Common sense appears to be in short supply which is why he left. A convicted Jihadist allowed to work in a kitchen ffs. Whoever allowed that should be picking up a P45 or made to work with these murderous scum.
Prison officers on 11:26 - Apr 20 with 505 views | AnotherJohn | When I saw recent news video of the CECOT mega-prison in El Salvador I couldn't help thinking it was just the job for offenders like Abedi. No pandering to personal preferences about dress or hair style. I doubt whether even spectacles are allowed as they might be a potential weapon. With the right regime stab-proof vests wouldn't be such an issue.

Good post, we are far to lenient in this Country with terrorists, it's a pity we couldn't export them to El Salvador. Trying to rehabilitate these scum is a pointless exercise, they should be locked up 24 hours a day, personally I'd bring back capital punishment for terrorists

Capital punishment is a macabre yet fascinating topic . Public hangings in this country were outlawed in 1868 . This meant that executions had to be held away from the public view . Prior to this thousands would gather - whole families and children to watch on a day trip or day out , crowds of 20000 were not unknown . The short drop was the method until abolished in the 1870's this is where the prisoner would die from asphyxiation and struggle for 10 mins . The long drop broke the neck instantly . In London condemned prisoners were taken from the Gaol usually Newgate . They would be on a waggon so people could watch them being taken to the scaffold usually at Tyburn . The prisoner would be offered a drink at various taverns along the way and could well make the journey a lot longer and by the time they got to Tyburn they could be well under the influence. This is what gives us the saying " He's on the Waggon " meaning he's not drinking at the moment . Some prisoners were also condemned to have their bodies used by surgeons post mortem to further the causes of science. Jonathan Wild the thief taker General executed in the 1700's also had his skeleton put on display- it still is , in the Hunterian museum in London . William Corder murdered his 25 year old girlfriend after a tiff in the village of Polstead in 1827. he hid the body in a barn - it became famous as the Red Barn murder. Hanged in Bury St Edmunds he was later flayed and his skin was used to bound 2 volumes of books recounting the story of his exploits! The Books are on display in Moyses Hall museum Bury SE. His death mask as well as the skin from the back of his head including his ear are also there. Some murderers/criminals were put in a gibbet after death - this was a kind of metal cage that kept the body in an upright position . Capt . Kidd ended up like this being displayed at the waters edge in Tilbury. Last woman to be hanged here was Ruth Ellis shot her lover to death outside the Magdala pub Hampstead. 1955. Last men - 2 for a joint enterprise homicide -Gwynne Evans and Peter Allen 1964.
