Said it before, reckon the box to box midfielder is an uninjured Illias Chair, Stephan has already said he wants him to play in the middle. Hence the Saito acquisition. |

So I think Chair wants to play that role, before he was injured he started coming deeper to collect the ball. He was looking so fit before the curse hit him in training ( I am assuming that is the truth btw). He has all the attributes and despite some comments on here in the past he does come back and tackle.

So I was there Saturday but despite that I think this has been a great window…. so far.
The squad is now so much stronger in depth, even the CN haters must see that, but squad depth is worth nothing if they aren’t available or match fit.
Poku, Mbengue, Saito, Kone, Hayden all in 1st 11 for me but only Mbengue match fit.
Jimmy and Jonathan obviously not quite match fit so improvement there.
Say it every year the international break might have come at the right time for us.
No coincidence all 3 and Celar going announced today. Like the sound of the left back |

Totally spot on report. Coventry have been in darker places than us, so maybe there is hope. No positives on the pitch but proud of our reaction to the announcement that Coventry now have a proper home, maybe shows us old farts are decent human beings. I had a long chat with one of their fans as I wondered back to the car park who admitted once they saw Illias wasn’t in the squad they knew it was definitely their day. Shows how important he is to us. Comedy moments around our singing of we’ve got the ball, we’ve lost the ball, we’ve had a shot and the oppo fans clapping us. Left at 7-0 so didn’t even see our goal. I felt they had more players on the pitch than us, speed of closing down, support at pace leading to options. Walsh definitely should have saved the 6th. Thing is we all think we are having a good window, maybe it will click. Clive hopefully see you in the Crown next Saturday, I think there will be a response, there has to be. |

Disagree and agree. I think all the Dembele issues are there for all to see. Don’t forget Illias preferred position is in the middle , a Coventry fan I met couldn’t believe their luck he wasn’t playing btw. Saito becomes 1st choice on the left, Poku on the right, Illias in the middle with Dembele and Smyth warming the bench. As for the rest of the show I don’t know but those three behind Kone should scare a few. Thing is everyone says we need a CM and totally agree Field, Varane and Colback worked as we could afford a suspension. I think we are agreeing, we should have bought him end of last season but Dembele already in the house. Saito is so much more than his stats, Dembele may well score more but sure as hell Saito will stop more.
At least we know Dembele would come on after 30 minutes at the earliest. |

Thing is Nardi is not old for a keeper, they hit peak early thirties. I was behind the goal and Walsh should have saved the 6th, the 7th was a peach of a strike. Nardi will surely start next week |

Reckon Steve Bould must have helped, fantastic news. His all round play ( defends, amazing leap) is better than Dembele’s who I love also. This squad is shaping into something. If everyone was fit ( massive if) the match day squad would have game changing subs, depth in strength. Two things I though we wouldn’t see for a while.
