Also read that China can't afford a war which leads to the loss of male lives.

Population already in decline and one child policy hurt them badly.

However, they are in it for the long term and we are so walking towards a similar outcome.

Madsen as a number 10? Nourry will want him in the team.

Kelman playing off him, if he isnt sold. Otherwise it will be Celar

We arent blessed with pace so unless we recruit he wont have that option either.

Whatever happens, we hope for midtable, we dream of the play offs and, in reality, we we expect a relegation battle.

Assessing whether Julien Stéphan would be a good match for QPR involves looking at his coaching style and how it aligns with QPR's current squad, recent tactical history, and club ambitions.
Julien Stéphan's Coaching Style:
* Tactical Flexibility: Stéphan is known for being adaptable, using various formations (4-4-2, 4-2-3-1, 3-5-2, 3-4-3) and adjusting to his squad's strengths and opponents. This is a significant plus, as it means he's less likely to rigidly impose a system that doesn't fit the players.
* Intensity and Direct Attacking Play: His teams play with high intensity, focus on direct attacking, and utilize wing play to create offensive maneuvers. He emphasizes getting multiple players into the box for crosses and quick passing between lines.
* Solid Defensive Foundation & High Press: He believes in building from a strong defense, setting patterned traps, and applying pressure. He's also willing to employ a high press, especially when chasing a game.
* Calculated Risk-Taker: Stéphan isn't afraid to take calculated risks to win the ball in dangerous areas.
* Emphasis on Ball-Playing Centre-Backs: His systems often leverage good ball-playing center-backs for build-up play.
QPR's Context:
* Recent Tactical Shift: Under Martí Cifuentes, QPR transitioned from a more direct, long-ball approach under Gareth Ainsworth to a possession-based, high-pressing style. This shift was generally well-received and saw an improvement in results, as it seemed to suit the players better.
* Squad Strengths/Weaknesses (General): QPR typically has a mix of experienced Championship players and younger talent. Historically, they've had creative attacking midfielders (like Ilias Chair) and wingers, which could align with Stéphan's wing-play emphasis. Their defensive solidity can vary, and like many Championship clubs, they might face challenges with squad depth and injuries.
* Need for Consistency: QPR has experienced significant fluctuations in form and managerial changes in recent years. A manager who can provide stability and build a coherent long-term vision is crucial.
Potential Match Analysis:
* Alignment with Cifuentes' foundation: Stéphan's focus on possession, high press, and dynamic attacking play seems broadly compatible with the direction QPR has been moving under Cifuentes. This could mean less of a drastic tactical overhaul, allowing players to build on existing principles.
* Utilizing attacking talent: If QPR retains creative players and quick wingers, Stéphan's emphasis on wing play and committed attacking movements could be beneficial. He looks to get players into the box, which could lead to more goalscoring opportunities.
* Defensive Structure: His focus on a solid defensive foundation and patterned traps could help QPR become more defensively organized, which is often crucial for success in the Championship.
* Adaptability for Championship: The Championship is a demanding league requiring tactical flexibility. Stéphan's willingness to adjust formations and game plans would be a strong asset.
* Development of Players: Stéphan has experience developing young players at Rennes. If QPR has promising young talent, he could be a good fit for nurturing their potential.
Potential Challenges/Considerations:
* Championship Experience: Stéphan has primarily managed in Ligue 1. The Championship is physically demanding and unique, and adapting to its intensity and unpredictability can be a challenge for managers new to the league.
* Squad Recruitment: For Stéphan to fully implement his style, he would need the right players. QPR's ability to recruit players that fit his specific tactical needs (e.g., ball-playing center-backs, versatile attacking players) would be key.
* Financial Resources: QPR's financial situation might dictate the level of player Stéphan could attract, and he would need to be adept at working within those constraints.
Conclusion:
On paper, Julien Stéphan's coaching philosophy, with its emphasis on dynamic attacking play, tactical flexibility, and a strong defensive structure, appears to be a potentially good match for QPR. His style aligns with the recent positive tactical shifts at the club and could leverage their existing attacking talent. The main question mark would be his adaptation to the unique demands of the Championship, but his reputation as an adaptable and intelligent coach suggests he could be successful. It would ultimately depend on the specific squad he inherits and the resources available for recruitment.

Apparently he plays a very similar style of football to what Marti does but seemingly is not wedded to the same formation week in and week out.

I'm going for a blue and black hooped away kit as a guess for this season....

Has the potential to look absolutely class if they got it right.

Only reason I'm suggesting this kit is because they have already announced that they are bringing out a third kit which must mean that there is a clash somewhere between the home and away. That's my logic anyhow!! 😁
