I did hear a few weeks ago that he will be sold this summer. I have no idea to where but there were rumours of France at some stage. |

And AI’s take on Julien Stephan… Julien Stéphan is a French football manager known for his tactical intelligence, focus on structure, and ability to develop young players. His most notable stints were with Stade Rennais (Rennes), where he won the 2019 Coupe de France, and RC Strasbourg, where he impressed initially before things declined in his second season. Here’s a breakdown of his style and what QPR fans might expect if he were to be appointed: ⸻ ⚽ Julien Stéphan’s Football Philosophy and Style 1. Tactical Structure & Flexibility • Formation: Often favors a 4-2-3-1 or 3-5-2, but is tactically versatile depending on the opposition. • Prioritizes compact defensive shape, with a well-organized mid-block. • Likes his teams to be disciplined and hard to break down, with intelligent positional play. 2. Possession with Purpose • Not obsessed with possession, but when his teams have the ball, they play with clear patterns. • Focuses on quick vertical transitions, using the flanks and attacking midfielders to break lines. • Can play on the counter when needed — pragmatic, not dogmatic. 3. Youth Development • Known for trusting and developing young players (Eduardo Camavinga made his breakthrough under him at Rennes). • If QPR wants to promote from within or develop talent, he’s an ideal fit. 4. High Standards and Attention to Detail • Demands high levels of concentration and work ethic. • Players have often spoken about how well-prepared his teams are, especially tactically. ⸻ 🏟️ What Can QPR Fans Expect? ✅ Positives • Organized team with a clear tactical identity. • Development of younger players — ideal for a club with budgetary constraints. • Can bring Cup pedigree and a more modern, continental approach. • Could make QPR more competitive against better squads through intelligent game plans. ⚠️ Potential Concerns • Not a manager known for expansive, swashbuckling football — it’s more calculated than exciting. • His success depends heavily on buy-in from players and support from the board. • His spell at Strasbourg ended poorly after a strong start — some questions about handling adversity and squad dynamics. ⸻ 🔄 Comparison to Recent QPR Managers • More tactically refined than Ainsworth, and less reliant on direct, physical football. • Closer to Michael Beale’s philosophy, but with more tactical maturity and experience at higher levels. ⸻ 🎯 In Summary If Julien Stéphan joins QPR, fans can expect: • A more structured, tactically sound team. • Likely improved defensive organization and game management. • A manager who can work within financial limits and develop young talent. • Not necessarily fireworks every week, but a manager who brings discipline and a professional culture. Let me know if you’d like a comparison with another candidate or a predicted lineup under his management. |

Well this is what AI says about Onur Cinel… Onur Cinel is recognised for his dynamic, high-intensity football philosophy, shaped by his extensive experience in youth development and his tenure within the Red Bull football network. His approach is characterised by proactive pressing, swift transitions, and a commitment to attacking play. Coaching Background and Influences Cinel’s coaching journey began in the youth systems of Rot-Weiss Essen and Schalke 04, where he spent over a decade honing his skills. At Schalke, he notably led the U17 team to consecutive West German championships and secured the 2021/22 B Juniors Bundesliga title, achieving an impressive points average of 2.66 per match . His development was further enriched by internships at esteemed clubs such as Chelsea, Ajax, and Manchester City under Pep Guardiola, providing him with a diverse tactical perspective . Tactical Philosophy Cinel’s teams are known for their: • High Pressing: Implementing an intense pressing game across various thirds of the field to regain possession swiftly and disrupt opponents’ build-up play . • Quick Transitions: Emphasising rapid shifts from defence to attack, aiming to capitalise on unsettled defences. • Attacking Play: Fostering a proactive and dynamic style that seeks to control the game through aggressive offensive strategies. During his initial training sessions at Red Bull Salzburg, Cinel focused on fast ball relays, counter-pressing, and goal-scoring exercises, underscoring his commitment to an energetic and forward-thinking approach . Expectations at QPR Should Onur Cinel take the managerial role at Queens Park Rangers, fans can anticipate a transformation towards a more aggressive and entertaining style of play. His emphasis on youth development aligns with QPR’s tradition of nurturing young talent, potentially leading to increased opportunities for academy players. The implementation of his high-pressing and attacking philosophy may require an adaptation period, but it promises a revitalised and ambitious team ethos. In summary, Cinel’s appointment would likely herald a new era for QPR, characterised by energetic performances, tactical innovation, and a renewed focus on developing young talent. |

Loved Minder. So many great episodes. So many locations that I know and grew up in. Pretty sure The Winchester had a number of locations including one next door to Chalk Farm station. The Modfather on here knows a lot about the episodes and locations of the programme. Very nostalgic for many of us. The BBC / ITV would never make anything like this again sadly. |

What is the point of keeping players like Fox, Andersen and Colback? We need to improve the team otherwise you just repeat what’s happened this season. We can’t have another season just trying to stay up! We need a better squad than the one we have just had! Dunne I would keep for sure. |

He’s not a Leeds type of player. They had the best right back in the Championship. He won’t go back to Burnley. He could go to Sunderland I suppose but I’d be doubtful. Sheff Utd are a shambles of a club and their financial issues have only got worse. |

I had heard from multiple people towards the end of the season that Nourry and Hoos wanted Marti gone. Nourry (allegedly) was very open about how he hated the relationship that Marti had with the fans. They couldn’t understand it. There’s 2 sides to every story but once this all dies down I think all fans deserve to hear from Nourry why the relationship between Marti and the board had clearly broken down. On the whole we did pretty well given our injury situation and some of the poor players we signed. We have a big summer ahead and if we don’t get it right it’s going to be another season hovering around relegation which simply cannot be the ambition for the 10th year in a row. |

He should have been sent off. He’s denied a goal scoring opportunity on purpose. If his hand is not there then Haaland gets his foot there to take it round him and would probably score. Our refs are beyond poor at this level. |

I assume the club are trying to find a way to get rid of Marti without having to pay him any compensation. Otherwise whoever we bring in will mean I assume we are paying for 2 coaches at the same time. I imagine QPR are trying to prove that Marti was speaking to other clubs without their permission which I imagine is in breach of his contract. Simply Nico I am sure can explain better on this than of us. And I definitely don’t want Cleverley. All the Watford I know were so glad to get rid of him. His football at Watford was beyond dull. |

Heard the other night at Rangers the youth team have now qualified for the European Development League. They will have some decent trips next season apparently. Similar format to the Europa / Conference Leagues. |

What a great night in the Bush. We played really well. It was a pretty open game but we could easily have got another 2 or 3. Then had a couple of decent chances as well. They were physical and looked a lot bigger but we played all the football. Was very impressed with Wilkie, Tuck, the Brazilian and Morgan but they all played their part. The future looks bright. Poor support from Brentford. Shows the difference between us and them. No way would they have had this level of support at their place. Some of their players / coaching staff were properly rattled by our support. Anyway, the 3rd goal allowed them to sneak out from their big day out to get the 237 back to Twickenham. |

One of our most loyal fans and most Rangers fans will know him. He has his operation 21 May. He’s delighted we beat the bus stop lot this evening. Good luck with the operation Vic. |

I would say our stadium redevelopment or new stadium is the most important thing for this club over the next 5 years. If we fail to do anything then we will continue to fall further and further behind Brentford and Fulham. I happened to be going past Fulham’s ground this afternoon after their game. All their fans were on the riverfront there. They had music. They had the 5.30 game on. The fans were buying beer after beer (and Pimms). 99% of our fans just watch the game and go. There is no attempt to keep us in the ground and spend money. Fulham and Brentford have clearly tapped into how maximise revenue with their new ground / redevelopments. My experience of going to Loftus Rd has literally not changed in over 40 years. I go to the same seat through the same turnstile. My seats are like sitting on Ryan Air for 90 mins. I go for a pi55 and the bogs are still the same. I love it but my God we have to move with the times If we want to attract floating fans. The new training ground was very much Hoos’s project and he has delivered on it. Nourry’s legacy needs to be sorting out our stadium. The natural point after that will be promotion to the Premier League. Loftus Rd is just past is sadly. It has given me and my family so many memories but we have to move on. Its current state is not fit for purpose. If it means we have to ground share at Fulham / Brentford / AFC Wimbledon for 2 or 3 years then so be it. |

And this supposed redevelopment of the ground will see us ground share with Fulham whilst the works go on (allegedly). Either way we need to do something. We are literally the only club in the top 2 divisions who have done nothing to their ground of significance or moved to a new ground within the last 40 years. That is poor and shows why we have fallen behind small clubs such as Brentford, Fulham etc. |

Definitely don’t want Furlong back. He was ok, but nothing special. Had a long throw and that was about it! |
 | Forum Reply | Jimmy Dunne at 23:36 7 May 2025
The line Dunne has told the club is that he simply wants to play in the Premier League which I can understand. He won’t sign a new contract with us. I just don’t know who in the Prem he is good enough for at right back. He would be a squad player on a better contract we can pay him. I still feel he will go to Sheff United either way if they go up or not. Allegedly he was offered 3.5k a week more by them in January. The club didn’t accept their offer as Dunne reassured the club he would give 100% for the remainder of the season which to be fair he has. Just a shame we are getting nothing for him. |
