Incompetent club - whether it’s a feasibility study to develop Loftus Rd or a great manager, we will always find a way to pass on the opportunity.

Marti - saying goodbye?
at 07:42 27 Apr 2025

A number of players who are in contract next season (Lloyd, Nardi, Chair) featured in the ‘we are together’ season ticket campaign video the other week.

None of the senior players who are out of contract (eg Cook, Dunne, Colback) appeared - regardless of seniority.

Marti, who is in contract, doesn’t appear. Hope I’m not reading too much into that.

Since Warburton Left
at 07:31 27 Apr 2025

It’s about identity. (Which Millwall have in abundance) - For all QPR’s talk about identity; when we brought in warburton back in 2019 - at the point that Critchley left, the owners had their usual brain fart and veered into a totally different direction with Ainsworth. Then having decimated the warbs-Beale-Critchley ‘game model’ (TM) squad through Ainsworth; when we sacked Ainsworth and veered back towards Marti-ball we needed a major re-build. …if QPR would just stick to a plan we’d have a hope!

Next seasons kits?
at 21:14 22 Apr 2025

One with yellow detailing (like the influence one) would be nice - I liked that one a few years back.

Big thing for me is no gambling sponsor. if theres a betting company on the front, I won’t buy it.

Next seasons kits?
at 20:59 22 Apr 2025

I’ve asked Chat GPT-Nourry and the following came back…

“The perfect QPR (Queens Park Rangers) kit should pay tribute to the club’s history, its West London roots, and its iconic look—while adding a modern edge for today’s fans. Here’s a breakdown of what that could look like:

Home Kit: Classic with a Modern Twist
Shirt:
Traditional blue and white hoops (not broken—keep them full wraparound).
Thin white collar or a simple crew neck in white.
Subtle detailing like tonal embossing of Loftus Road or the founding year (1882).
Small inner-neck print: “We Are QPR”.
Sponsor: Minimalist and not too loud—ideally in a color that matches the kit (white or blue).
Badge: Embroidered, with a subtle sheen—classic crest, not the newer abstract versions.
Sleeves: Hoops continued fully across, with blue cuffs.
Shorts:
Solid white, with a thin blue trim down the side.
Subtle QPR badge near the hem.
Socks:
Blue with white hoops, to keep the kit balanced.
“QPR” subtly stitched on the back.
Away Kit: A Bold Tribute
Color: Deep red or black (QPR has a history of both as away colors).
Design: Diagonal sash or a gradient pattern—something unique but tasteful.
Details: Gold or silver trim to make it pop. “Rangers” stitched into the back of the neck.
Third Kit: Fan-Favorite Revival
Bring back something cult-classic—like the ’90s orange and grey, or a retro-inspired green and white quarters.
Add subtle nods to old kits, like sleeve trims or throwback fonts for the numbers.”

Please can we finish above Watford
at 09:28 19 Apr 2025

Unlikely as it now seems, I would also like to have finished above Millwall. Just need three wins rangers and them to drop quite a few points.

Away (School end) today
at 09:47 13 Apr 2025

Yep. Not suggesting selling away fans those ‘diabolical view’ seats in the corner - rather just to start filling the away end from left to right using standard view seats, then sell QPR fans any spare tickets from right to left in upper tier and net off the bit between like they did downstairs in the away end yesterday .

Away (School end) today
at 08:50 13 Apr 2025

I do think the club should look at filling the top tier of the away end up from the ellerslie side to the other progressively based on away team ticket sales - pen them into that side of the upper tier if they only sell 1000 tickets - look at QPR fans filling the other side of the upper tier (accessed via SAR block A if they remove the fence) and block the seats between with netting like they did in the lower tier yesterday.

Better still - replace the redundant corner seats between the upper School end and SAR stand and create some exec boxes/restaurant… looks like Michel Drain Architects have already considered this?… not any current use for those seat clearly.

Really don’t know why Fox started ahead of him / was preferred CB sub ahead of him for that period of time. Really strange.

Attitude While Contract End Looms
at 09:45 6 Apr 2025

Sadly clubs should now see a four year contract as a three year one - we know players bin off the last six months and inevitably have six months of a tight calf or similar during their contract.

Maybe contracts should be backloaded and performance related in the back end of the term, somehow to incentive performance in the exit year - albeit in my mind, if I was knowingly in the shop window I would put in the extra effort, this is just another example of the crazy alternative approach on football.

I suppose the other half of how good a match was depends on your match day experience at the game.

Time to play our own
at 08:34 2 Mar 2025

I have no problem with us playing the spurs kid in the first half of each match, but making clear that he’ll come off at half time and Smyth will come on AT HALF TIME AND NONE OF THIS WIERD 60min TRACKSUIT OFF ANS GET READY COMING ON AT 70min STUFF! it’s been a while since Smyth came on fresh against tired legs and it worked a treat.

I would like to see Morrison paired with Edwards a couple of times. If it doesn’t work, that’s fine, we can bring Cook on.

Sorry for the CAPS LOCK - it really boils my pi$$

That would be an odd move - to put in 18 months of graft and then, just when you’re set to push for a top 8 finish with a bit of further player trading, to go?.. maybe summer 2026 if we don’t push into the playoffs next season but probably not this summer.

I agree, but I think you’d have to ask a middle aged demographic that question to get those results. Our younger following might only just be fortunate enough to have seen or appreciate Taraabt play.

QPR finances released
at 17:30 24 Feb 2025

Even just replace the old metal roof coverings with clear light permeable polycarbonate roofs to all four stands and given the lighter loading extend the roofs further over the lower tiers - that would make such a huge difference to the comfort, aesthetics, amenity, general feel (and pitch quality!) and frankly shouldn’t cost a packet.

Family stand could be relocated to the paddocks under cover of an extended new roof covering.

While at it; how about looking at relocating the TV gantry to the SAR stand which has more head room and could free up/reinstate some seating in Ellerslie Road.

Anyway - back to the original topic of this thread…

Develop a health club and hospitality venue for corporate hire on the training ground - maybe even Ruben’s much desired music venue. More attraction watching player training five days a week in the background while having a corporate shin-dig and closer to the M25 and Heathrow. Less to consider in terms of noise pollution for a music venue + easier to develop at a lower expense.

Turning to Loftus Road - de-fragment the concourse and areas to the rear of all four stands, re-plan and max out concessions and match day facilities as Michael Drain and calfordseaden’s feasibility study.

Absolutely agree. Another projection of the originator of this thread’s self-proclaimed intellect on anyone who cares to listen, while celebrating a minor footballing set back.
