 | Forum Reply | QPR and Birmingham desperate to stop respective rots - Preview at 19:40 11 Mar 2026
It's all gone Pete again. We should not be surprised. But we're still allowed to be royally faaaaaacked off. The best thing about QPR right now is this website. And it's been that way for a very long time. I salute those going to the game tonight. I've been on a Leo in London and just got home. I may not be able to find the red button. Result. |

Thankfully I was away this weekend and couldn't go. But after the last few weeks I'm not sure I would've gone even if I had been able to. There is something deeply rotten within our club. And ultimately you have to point to the people appointing the staff and writing the checks. But it beggars belief that we don't hear a single peep out of the owners ever. Not one. Why on earth are they continuing to bankroll the club? It makes no sense to me and I can't see how they will ever get any kind of return. And the Steve Cook thing boils my piss. Anyway, thanks for the report - I think many would understand if you just posted a picture of a turd and left it at that |

Good report, thanks - pretty much how I saw it too. Was in two minds as to whether to go on Saturday or not after Tuesday - seems I took the wrong call. It all felt a bit spring, late season subdued, nobody could really be arsed right from the off, including the crowd. Not sure I want to spend my heard earned on that for too much longer. This season has flattered to deceive like many others - dodgy start followed by - hold on though here we go - we might have a couple of strikers here - could we make a push for the play offs???? - followed by, oh. No of course not. |
 | Forum Reply | Three game week - the modern excuse at 12:35 1 Mar 2026
I reckon this is all nonsense, but you can let it become an issue if everyone tells you it's an issue. Sub consciously, we may well find ourselves a few percentage points below par in a 3 game week, but it's not 'cos of any physical limitations - it's all in the head. |

yea agree with this - atmosphere was pretty subdued right from the start I thought. Definitely a feeling of going through the motions both on and off the pitch |

this is true, and as a child of the late 60's, I do agree. However, I believe it was always the way. My dear old dad (God bless 'im) used to bang on about how the game we watched wasn't the same as back in his day. Heavy leather ball that soaked up the water, break your neck if you head it, no subs so if you broke your leg you had to run it off etc; not quite jumpers for goal posts but you get the picture. It is definitely worse these days - the Premier League circus holds very little appeal for me; but therein lies the rub; I want us to do well and win every game we can; I want us to get promoted; and yet I would hate it at the same time |

agree - this is very well put and quite sobering. I've been going to Loftus Road for 50 years on and off, and more on than off since returning from overseas a few years ago. And since then we've done pretty much bugger all - nothing in the cups obviously, and only the failed promotion push under Warburton that got exciting for a short while - otherwise relegation battles or the proverbial mid/lower table obscurity. And I've just kind of accepted it. There's the odd highlight along the way of course (Jimmy's late winner against Brum a particular fave), but mostly it's either average or crap. And I haven't really questioned it, just accepted it, but your post is spot on. And it's making me really think. I'll be there on Saturday, but also can't be arsed with it. And I know others feel the same. I wonder how many more games (or even seasons) I'll sit through before the indifference takes over. We treat it as a bit of an in joke about how QPR'd things get, about how typical it is for us to do these crap things. But we really shouldn't. it is unacceptable and has been for years and years. If only there was an answer or solution, but far better brains than mine have tried to crack it and failed. So maybe we are just doomed to continued underperformance and failure with the occasional bit of abjectivity thrown in for good measure. That said, I guess I will continue going for the foreseeable...... |

Thanks for the report - about as balanced as it could be in the wake of a 5-0 defeat! I can see you make a lot of effort to deliver a balanced view based on reality, rather than an emotional diatribe that I think we could all dekiver after that. You raise some good points about acceptable standards, and expected QPRisms, cos that's who we are and what we should expect. But we don't ever expect that performance even if we know it's somewhere in the locker. Conversely, my own reaction was to be so pissed off at the 4th goal that I practically ran back to the car immediately. However, halfway up the M3 I was quite happy about being closer to home, in the warm and not really thinking about the game. Perhaps I too, have become desensitised to all of this nonsense. Roll on Saturday |

interesting points you raise here and you have made me think. I said on an earlier post that if I was still there at the end I would not have applauded. However, if the players were genuinely coming over to apologise then I totally get your points and I reckon perhaps, just perhaps I may have been a little more forgiving. Never black & white this stuff, but your post certainly made me think |

It's a personal choice of course. I left after the 4th went in cos I'd had enough. If I had stayed until the end I don't believe I would have clapped them as there was nothing to applaud. In my view, respect, plaudits and support have to be earned in all walks of life including football and if the team put on a performance like that it seems disingenuous to applaud it. It was utter garbage. As others have said, Southampton didn't really look all that and they won 5-0. Says it all |

I'm generally not one to look for scapegoats but having just watched it back on the Sky highlights, Walsh has to do better for their 2nd and 4th goals. The 5th was a decent strike - first time seeing that as I was already back at the car by that point. On the plus side, at least I was home nice and early, so that's a bonus |

just back. Utter garbage. I couldn't tell what system we were supposed to be playing. Southampton didn't look all that in the first half but conceding the 2nd right on half time changed the mentality for both teams. We looked defeated as soon as we came out for the 2nd half. Anyone want a couple of tickets for Saturday? |
