Excellent as ever and Columbo like in unpicking all of the evidence to the real culprit(s). As an old taxi driver (sort of) I've seen enough bright young things dazzle for a few weeks, full of youthful confidence and swagger, only to see it fall away as the reality of things not being just theory or data driven bites back. Where do we go from here? I was seriously wondering if I renew my 4 season tickets this time around after decades of this madness. The journey to and from games feels like a miserable trek too often now. I just don't enjoy it and it's a lot of money. With Marti gone (and I agree he most definitely saved us and we were very lucky to find him) I don't have much faith at the moment and that's before even getting to the scraps of a squad we have. Believe it or not I'm actually an optimist! I've been amazed at the loyalty and attendances in recent seasons but I can't see it lasting much longer. I don't like the idea that the club can be led this way and they just expect all of those ST renewals to roll over. I need some convincing before handing over a few grand upfront this year. |

I look forward to these reports so Thank You! A bit of humour and the ability to laugh at some of the madness around us is all we have at the moment. Nothing but admiration for you and the other 700+ that bought tickets and made (or tried) the long journey. Us supporters are forking out a lot of time and money, in the worst cost of living crisis in decades, and like you say, deserve a lot better. By that I don't think we expect much, but a professional championship team that gives a half decent account of themselves would be nice, even just every now and then.....
I still don't think the season has to be lost and our squad, with *better management and team leadership* are good enough to be above the bottom three. The longer we repeat this very broken cycle, the more bonkers it becomes. Transformation - no words!
Make the change, possibly 6/7 points in November and we won't be too adrift? |
