Still a lot of negativity in article and a lot of comments. The biggest moan I’ve read in recent seasons is too much passing for passing’s sake. Well the 5 games we’ve won under Eckert we’ve had less possession but created more chances and scored more. He is getting what is arguably the best squad in the division playing positively and reaping the rewards and long may it continue. My glass is half full not half empty. |

The best managers are good coaches/technicians/tactitians AND man managers/motivators. I think the latter is the most important quality needed for the Saints at the moment and definitely in the championship. The combo is ideal but not that easy to find. Bit surprised Steve Cooper is not mentioned as he took Forest from a similar position to us when he took over to promotion in same season. I’m not necessarily convinced he’s the answer but should be considered I think. |

You are becoming far too negative at such an early stage either new manager and largely new squad. We won 2 games last season; that is not turned around fast and I do think we are improving. Think he did know his starting 12 unfortunately a key part got injured when on top and leading; maybe he shouldn’t have been started for third game in 8 days though hindsight is a wonderful thing. Onwards and upwards! |

Those that should start after last 3 games are: McCarthy, Wood, Edwards, Manning, Charles, Jander, Fellows, Armstrong, Stewart as much for gelling more and continuing improvement. For sake of consistency I’d give the nod to Quarshie and hope he continues to cut out the errors and then it’s a question of whether Azaz deserves another start before Robinson, Fraser and Scienza. Will Aribo or Edozie make the bench following their reintegration into the squad? Onwards and upwards! |

I thought changes were needed when they were made as Boro had largely taken control of the game in the second half after we scored, perhaps the changes weren’t right but hindsight is a wonderful thing. I would not classify their goal as a shot on target - not until it deflected off Wood that is and spun strangely. Good to see Stewart start a game fir the first time this season and needs to be given a few more as made us much more balanced going forward |

Unfortunately the subs had to be made for injury and tiredness reasons; the issue for me was the line up of the bench. Starting were 3 CBs and 2 FBs and in the bench were 2 more CBs and 3 more FBs meaning there was only room for 3 midfield and attackers combined. I would have had Lallana on the bench and brought him on or even Groenbeck. When it came to having to take Ugochukwu and Downes off we had only Aribo as a similar replacement. Why that bench combination to start?? |
