If we know that he won’t extend his contract he’s got to be sold now. Currently, his stock is very high and we don’t really know if he’s on a Sheron/Washington hot streak. If he doesn’t commit and he has 15 games and he does well, we’ll just be building him up for a better club at the end of the season.
Because of his age Posh are due a compensation fee. Bit of a result for them because they’d have got less if he’d gone to Rangers as the international compensation would have been less.
Reuben Selles about to be sacked today . He’d be a good shout. This time last year Hull sacked Rosenior and look how well he’s done. Always glad to see clubs who are more of a basket case than us.
Surely the most annoying co commentator around. It’s all “he’s overhit that “ “not hit it hard enough “ “should have shot “”should have been tighter “ pointing out the bleeding obvious and not analysing the game at all.
I have no inside knowledge and this is purely theoretical and people with greater understanding of these things are welcome to shoot me down. But, is it possible that H@F are considering redeveloping the White City flats? They’re pretty old now and must be expensive to maintain so would it make sense to get a developer in to demolish and rebuild them? If that were the case SA road could be moved giving us more space and resolving any light issues.
My Dad was too young to join up at the start of the war but volunteered to be a fire watcher. So he spent the blitz running around the the roofs of buildings with a bucket of sand putting out incendiary bombs when he was only 14/15, unbelievable to think of this today. One of his big memories was not VE Day but VJ Day. He’d joined up by now and was in Germany after victory in Europe. His unit was being measured and kitted out with jungle fatigues to go and fight the Japanese. A rumour went around that the Japanese had surrendered. No one believed this after seeing the way they had fought to the last man without surrendering. They were even more doubtful when told they’d surrendered because a just one bomb had been dropped after seeing thousands dropped during the war. Of course, they had no idea what an atomic bomb was. This was the big celebration for him and his mates as they were dreading having to fight the Japanese and were going home.
Mehmeti Is another one. Playing for up the road at Wycombe under Gareth Ainsworth. Scored his first professional goal against us and has 11 goals in 30 games this season as an attacking midfielder, stats we could only dream of but picked up by Bristol City.
Plans for redeveloping the White City. QPR gets a mention, not sure if the immediate area round the ground ie Batman Close, or the possibility of rebuilding stands form any part of it.
