Kelman is the same age as Alfie Lloyd. I've seen a few Orient games on the box, In some he has been excellent and others a little bit anonymous. He does a lot outside of the box, seems a good passer, reminds me a bit of Gallen but he is also very similar to Celar but seems to work harder. Time will tell but he has earned his opportunity |
 | Forum Reply | "Gardening Leave" - what exactly does this mean ?? at 10:24 5 May 2025
Our resident QC explained this well in the long thread. Basically the Gardening leave will be a clause in the contract. By invoking it means that any Championship club will have to pay compensation. (if they sack him they have to pay him off anyway). However if he goes to another league the compensation will be negligible as there is little damage to the club, so if he got a role in France for example we would get next to nothing. |

I've never bought into the effort thing. I'm sure if you saw his tracker stats for most games they would be in line with most other players, for running. What I do think is that he really struggled to adapt to the pace and phsyicality of the league and then had a really hard time mentally coping with that. I think he has made huge progress in the last month or so, yesterday playing as an 8 in a slightly different system. Frey was terrible for the first 4 months he was here, but this season after working hard in pre season he has looked a very good striker in this league. I am hopeful Madsen will kick on from here with a full pre-season under his belt |

Betsy's and interesting one, As Arsenals U23 coach he would have been very much though off as a future manager, then had a spectacular fail at Crawley and has worked his way back. tbh I like the idea of his current role and I think that this season for the first time in a long long time we can see most players improving and getting better over time. Whether that is him or Marti who knows. One suspects that Calm will go with Marti into his next role |

Really good performance there. Interesting set up it seemed to be fluid between 3-4-3 and 4-3-3 with Colback stepping into midfield and Ashby playing very high wing back. Classy goal from Madsen, I would say Ashby's best performance he caused them a lot of trouble. At least one new Hammy injury though! |

If they are following the process as they have described it they will have a clear idea of who they want, and it wont be an obvious or expensive name |

So assuming I've read what you have said correctly (and presuming your an eminent QPR supporting KC specialising in sports) The position is that by putting him on Gardening leave he cannot get another championship job without QPR getting compensation, but he can get a prem job or a role in another league and the compensation will be sweet FA). However we have to pay him (can we employ another coach in the same role?) until the issue is resolved. Typically what would be the pay off for a sacking, full contract worth anyway (in which case club has nothing to lose), 1/2 , 1/4 ? |

I think it matters to many who their boss is. Jimmy is an unorthodox right back if you have a manager coming in who wants pacy attacking fullbacks what happens to Dunne? He becomes 4th choice CB and occasional RB. Footballers generally want to play. Dunne's value is the highest it has ever been. If I was him, I would not have signed, I would be wanting to know the manager situation (and they would have known things were not rosy) and I would be wanting to make sure that I am playing for a manager that wants me and will use me. Whether that is Marti or another team that is signing him for his strengths. |

With Dunne going the other way. The Percy story in the telegraph that he had not taken training today and that they were going to get him for no comp might have been the trigger. Probably legal rather than PR pulling the strings |

I think the Dunne part and some of the other contracts were obvious, Dunne was never going to sign a deal unless he knew who the manager was going to be and I'm sure like many of us he was not confident it would be Marti. You can imagine a scenario where Marti goes to West Brom, he takes Dunne with him , because he will play him, and Furlong comes the other way as part of the compensation package. |

Well Cifuentes is 1/6 on now for next West Brom Manager that's done deal territory subject to compensation |

Dave Mc is not one to toe the party line so I'm more likely to believe what he has to say on this [Post edited 29 Apr 22:45]

Its all a bit over dramatic isn't, maybe I'm missing something, his agent obviously spoke with us when he was at Hammerby, pretty sure this stuff goes on all the time, not sure what either side gains from the drama apart from West Brom who dont want to pay compensation. Fans will take sides, players will take sides. All very unnecessary IMHO. |

Just a quick warning as the system has changed since I last used it. You have to convert your voucher into a code in the basket. You then have to copy and paste it into the discount code box. If you go back or add another item and try to use left over balance you lose the previous code. I work in bloody digital for a living and just got caught on this (did not read the instructions) so I suspect many others will. I've just emailed the club to try and get it reinstated or at least send me the voucher codes or tell me where they are hidden. |

Clearly he was, as he generated interest from Premiership at 17/18 - the reality is we ruined him because he should have been sent out for a lower league loan to learn the game properly, never having had an academy education. |
 | Forum Reply | Sky Sports Breaking News at 20:31 28 Apr 2025
I think the reality is that it's the end of the season. There are a number of jobs available, clubs want to move quickly to resolve contract issues and clubs will be talking to agents to sound out interest. Just as we did with Hammerby to secure Cifuentes in the first place, in fact we had pursued for a long period of time and he wanted to see out the season (or at least whilst there was any competiiton involved)when we made our move. I dont really see how this situation is any different. Especially as we have heard from multiple sources on forums and social media media and hints from the journalists that Marti and Nourry fell out some time ago and a parting of ways has been on the cards at the end of the season for months. Regardless as I've said elsewhere in the thread, the chances of him staying beyond this season whether we did well or not were always going to be very slim. |

No, that's irrelevant. You can rightly argue that we have squandered the opportunity afforded by premiership and parachute payments from 2011 and 2014. However, the reality is that P & S rules limit us, not because our owners won't invest but because they are not allowed to spend more than the allowed losses. Our ground and our ability to generate income is what puts us at a disadvantage. |

I might be wrong about this but I think I read that the season in League 1 gets counted in the FFP calculation for the rolling 3 years so on that basis they are likely to breach straight away |
 | Forum Reply | Sky Sports Breaking News at 17:09 27 Apr 2025
Why would the club know? Unless the other club or the agent have explicitly told them. The story is that another club have been speaking with his agents surely the source is more likely to be that club or Marti's agents. |
