Yeah, Soton probably has to pay sell-on to Peterborugh also, so probably need to sell him for something close to 4m just to break even. They would only be interested in such a deal if they don't see him as a future prospect/asset and want to get rid of him, which would be mad. So, no way handsome Ron is going anywhere shortly unless a significant amount is offered. |

The big downside of this (great) news, is that with the new policy of evenly spreading out the positive news, it will be 2 weeks before we hear who the new manager is. Until then, dev squad signings only and some news about people leaving. |

Always liked him, thought he was important playing with whoever we had attacking on the left. There were talks of him joining Twente here in NL earlier, which would be a huge step up for him. Finished 6th and just missed out on European competition. |

Apparently you could even be in Dubai and still do a job in London. Well done Eze, very happy for the lad. Modern day QPR cult hero. |

It is a sensible extension. Given what we have, at least secure him as a decent option. Kolli, Lloyd and Celar all still question marks around them. Hopefully Kelman comes in and does a job for us, but just too many uncertainties to let the top scorer go. |

Birmingham with a silly salary offer. Hopefully Jimmy has more ambition than that. |

We just can't ever seem to build any momentum with one manager. Warburton lasted 3 season which was pretty amazing. I really hoped Marti had time to put at least a good foundation here, but we are not at that point yet and now the entire rebuild starts again. Klopp, Pep, Sir Alex, Wenger ... the top "projects" don't change managers willy nilly. We'll be back here in (at most) two years time going through the whole thing again. |

What would a typical "relegation from Championship"-clause look like in a player's contract? I am very curious where this leaves Chris Willock, who left us for a bigger salary at Cardiff, but could now perhaps actually be earning less than at us after relegation. |
 | Forum Reply | Ronnie Edwards - praise to the club when it’s due at 12:23 19 Apr 2025
I would play Edwards the last 3 games. He is not blocking one of our own upcoming players at the moment who can step in an perform at this level. Clearly Morrison is growing as a player next to Ronnie also, so give them the last few games together. Maybe we can convince Southampton to lend him to us for another season. The 3m mentioned they paid for him probably included sell-on fees, so they would need to get at least probably 3.5 - 4m to just break even. |

I am really keen to see how the Kelman situation is going to develop. Top scorer in League One now. Surely he must now be able to make an impact with us, at least play some role. Otherwise, if Peterborough managed to get 3m for Edwards, we should be able to get a heft fee for someone willing to take a punt on the League One top scorer. |

I would give him him game-time in all the remaining games, hopefully he can build on the past two games and take that into next season. |
 | Forum Reply | Have we ever had a better loan than Ronnie Edwards? at 13:49 10 Apr 2025
The Field/Austin/Johansen loans combined were pretty good. But fully agree that Edwards has been superb. I can't see us keeping him, but really wish him well and will follow his career with interest. |
 | Forum Reply | Madsen at 10:35 10 Apr 2025
I really hope he comes good. We don't have too many (any) tall ball playing midfielders, which was what he was bought for I thought. On a long-term contract, so really need to get him going. |

If Cardiff gets relegated, will Willock have to take a pay cut? His dad won't be happy about that! |
