Talk about, one way traffic. Better second half but even so we were let off another thrashing. Substitutes improved the team for sure. |
 | Forum Reply | QPR win through to Wembley at St Andrew's – History at 11:20 10 Mar 2026
I was there at St Andrews, leaving the ground at full time there was no doubt in any ones mind, we were going to Wembley. I'm sure I've told this story before but I asked my dad to book us a mini bus as a few of us including my dad were going up. We arranged to meet at Gypsy Corner and dad rolls up on a 52 seater coach, dad, I said a mini bus and he said "It's all I could get son". So we had about 8 seats each. What a night ! We have an average team with an average manager, not good not bad just average. It is a typical mid table team, even with everyone fit, we probably wouldn't be a top 6 team. Fitness is one key issue, we always look like we are chasing shadows, our players fade well before the end of the game, other teams look so much sharper, quicker and faster. Recruitment / scouting is another issue we are not finding enough of the right sort of players to improve the squad. |

I was also at Wembley for all the world cup games except one, I was there completely by accident. My friend Roger had bought two blocks of tickets for him and his girlfriend and then fallen out with said girlfriend. He came knocking on my door and asked me if I wanted to go and being a Rangers fan and not too bothered about the fortunes of my national team, I said no thank you, anyway he came back the next day and got the same answer and the next day he came again knocking on the door, my dad said what does that boy want so I told him he had tickets for all the England games at Wembley. My dad said you should take them son this won't happen again in your lifetime, so I did and even now I can't believe I nearly missed one of the great football matches in England's history. The one match we missed was France v Uruguay at the White City, when they blocked booked Wembley no one considered that the capacity was different, Wembley of course held far more. We arrived at the White City and it was chaos people milling about everywhere, in those days of old the police used to marshal the crowd on horseback and one of our finest on the back of his horse looked down on us and said go home, no I said, it's alright we have tickets, waving them in the air, he said have you got a television, very bemused I said yes and he said well bugger of home and watch it then your not getting in here tonight the grounds full. I can say with hand on heart although it was a great win and a historic moment in history it didn't move me as much as when Mike Keen held the trophy aloft. [Post edited 5 Mar 6:40]

Thanks Boston a result few predicted, that's probably why the bookies are rich and the punters are poor. The odds for that result and score must have been very high |

In my opinion he chose the wrong option and let his heart rule his head, I don't think Arsenal play a system which suits his style of play. Tottenham would have been a better fit. I watch him when I can and to me he looks lost which is a great shame as we all know what a great player he is and can be. I could be wrong but sometimes it seems as if team mates are reluctant to pass him the ball. Certainly not helping his England chances. Just hope that it comes good for him, he always comes across as a very level headed and likeable young man. |

They certainly seem to rate him. Good experience for him, regular Championship football. |

Paul Smyth was excellent on Saturday and was up and down the pitch working so hard for the team, for me a really good professional performance he did not stop running, dare I say in a Jamie Mackie style. These are the good sort of players we need, sure he makes mistakes and sometimes takes the wrong option but he's plying his trade at Q.P.R. not Arsenal or Man City. He, in my opinion gives his all every time he plays, can't ask for more than that, what's not to like. We have had many players here over the years that haven't given us everything like Smyth does. Also makes it easier for ND to play his game. |

Brilliant, thank you again for your efforts on our behalf. That save from Richards header, I doubt we will see a better one this season. |
