It's come out this week that if he kept us up he got a new contract, the timing of when they announced it was down to the club I don't think it's as black and white as you paint it. A Manager could well be unhappy with what is happening in certain areas whilst still getting on with his job and enjoying other aspects of it Ultimatley we've no idea why he's going as the club haven't actually told us the reasons for why he is on gardening leave |

Thanks for having me on, I struggled to think of a positive other than the return of Taylor but whilst I am in a doom and gloom space I would say the squad is slightly similar to when Warbs first came in with us having a few decent prospects in the team who need some good players to help them flourish. We had the likes of Bright, Eze and Chair then and what they needed was players to create for who could score goals so the signings of Wells and Hugil that summer really elevated us helped those players improve and we had a decent season. If we can somehow find either on loan or maybe through Kelman or some other signing a couple of players who have good movement up front, can score goals, won't be bullied that would help the likes of Demebele and co to improve which then helps the team They can probably fudge the other positons with some average affordable players but really some forwards who can regularly score goals and push teams back would be massive. I have no faith at all they will get them but it's not impossible |

I just can't imagine it's going to be anyone we've heard of but this is not out of the blue, they must already have an idea who they want otherwise this week is an even bigger shitshow than it already looks I quite like the Plymouth manager, he's done very well to get them so close to staying up which will be the job next season. Gary O'Neil I think is a realstic option as I think his next move has to be the Championship although he would have a shout at better championship jobs. Much like when Warbs left though I look at the options and don't think any of them are any better than what we've already got [Post edited 1 May 14:42]

He was probably just playing golf, he was in London for the Arsenal game the night before or it's just a joke that has backfired and he wasn't there at all |

Well you are bang on he should just stay as our manager until someone comes in for him and if no one does you just agree to part ways if thats the way we want to go I'm guessing that the club felt that he was about to join West Brom and in that scenario you don't want him in the building tapping your players up especially ones you are in talks for a new contract which is understandable I think the real reason is they are managing the fall out of a popular manager going and it's like putting your kid on the naughty spot and shining a light look everyone he's been a naughty boy, that helps get fans and possibly players thinking oh hes just a prat who doesn't want to be here and I'm not going to get upset now he's gone. Onto the next one which has worked with a lot of people. The disaster part is that he's now not getting the West Brom job or likely any other job imminently so we've thrown the manager under the bus partly to protect compensation that we won't be getting now anyway and now stuck with a worst case scneario of looking for a new manager whilst still paying the current one who can sit back and do nothing for 2 years until another club come in for him |

Depends if thats in his contract or not and imagine he could get round it saying his agent spoke to them he didn't. It would be a mad hill to die on for QPR considering we'll almost certainly be talking to the agents of managers and players contracted to other clubs at the moment as well. |

Thats fine if one side has to go but the way they've done is just makes no sense, it didn't have to get this ugly The option they have taken also sends out a message to any incoming manager that we'll be doing this to you as well if you don't do exactly as we say and thats likely to mean the people you want as manager are not going to touch it with a barge poll |

He is a grown adult though so should hold his own opinion and understand when there is a huge disagreement the truth is usually in the middle, as owner of the club he should be looking to put the clubs interests first not pick a side What they have done this week doesn't help anyone. They were in a pretty strong position in that if West Brom or any clubs wanted Marti they had to pay for him, that leverage is sort of gone now, clubs will back away from this mess and wait for us to just pay him off. By briefing fans and media outlets that he wasn't that good anyway and was a pain to work with again doesn't help us move him on whether you agree with how good he was or not It was once again people putting their ego ahead of the best interests of this football club I feel like we've gone back in time to the Paladini days again |

why not the 1st year? Go whilst your stock is high, only have to see how his stock has fallen a year later. No club watching our last 2 games is thinking thats the man we want as our manager |

the problem is thay way of doing it is the right way to go, you sell an Eze invest in better players to get a better team, do it again and improve the team again but the second part of that plan needs to be we end up with a good team pushing to go up, the Brentford and bristol City model. We don't seem to have grasped the second part of the plan yet |

makes you think whats going on behind the scenes to make first Mick Beale openly say to fans 2 months into the job that this wasn't what he was told it would be and why Marti after a good first season is looking to move on It's also the clubs model to bring you in develop and sell you on for profit, thats players and managers so when you do that as a club you can't be shocked when the players have a look at what is on offer |

I don't think it's a case of he hates his job. He was due an extension and pay rise if he kept us up and took it and his agent was looking for the next step up for him to take if he did well or if he needed another job, thats pretty much an agents job We'll have plenty of agents trying to give us a new manager over the next few weeks |
 | Forum Reply | Cifuentes on gardening leave at 14:33 30 Apr 2025
It would have been along the lines of he can tell other clubs what players are on, contract lengths etc and they can take advantage of us as the basis for doing this but when he doesn't get another job they just look stupid |
 | Forum Reply | Cifuentes on gardening leave at 14:21 30 Apr 2025
Thing is though as a football club we sell ourselves to players and managers by saying look at us come here we will develop you and then if you do well you can achieve your footballing dreams at a bigger and better club that we help you to reach. Look at Eze he played in this shithole he's now tearing it up in the prem, look theres Les Ferdinand he spent years at this dump and then got to win PFA player of the year and play for England The aim isn't come here and be the best you can be win promotion, play in the top flight with QPR, this is your career high playing for us. it's do well and get to go somewhere decent so of course when someone comes in and does well they are going to be dropping their knickers to the flash bigger and better club that we promised them they could get if they came here |
