Oh dear our economy shrank by 0.3% in April. All the business sectors warned Rachel her £30 billion tax raid on business would hit the economy and growth and lead to job losses. The only sector that grew was construction helped by the very Sunny April. |

Wales needs to exploit it natural resources. Why on earth is the UK importing coal when we have millions of tons of it available. We don't even need to send anyone underground open cast mining is safe, yet Drakeford and co closed down our last open cast site. |

I can remember when Swansea had two casualties units one at Singleton and one at Morriston. Perhaps if we had two now there would not be the huge queues at Morriston A&E. |
 | Forum Reply | Better-off pensioners to pay for WFA U-turn? at 08:53 10 Jun 2025
Except those on benefits they receive all of them TAX FREE no matter how much they get. A family living on benefits can easily get £25,000 in TAX FREE benefits. Meanwhile those who receive a pension, which is classed as a benefit, will start paying tax the moment their income reaches circa £12,500. |
 | Forum Reply | Better-off pensioners to pay for WFA U-turn? at 08:49 10 Jun 2025
Probably because the pensions were so low back then. Fortunately the triple lock introduced by the nasty Conservatives in 2010 has made sure pensioners are better off. Still the nice Labour part stopped WFA in 2024. |

Unemployment increased again this month. What a surprise the huge April job tax on businesses has resulted in 50,000 more people joining the unemployment list. The only area were jobs are increasing are in the public sector especially central government. Despite this Public sector output is 5% lower than before Covid. |

Reform are a UK wide party. They will gain seats in the Senedd and finally break the dead hand of 25 years of labour misrule in Wales. Glad to see they have announced that Welsh residents, will get priority over asylum seekers and illegal immigrants, for housing. At least reform recognise the real cause of the housing crisis in Wales is not holiday business. They did quite well in the recent Scottish bi election getting only a few hundred votes less than the SNP. |
 | Forum Reply | Resident doctors demand another big pay rise at 12:26 9 Jun 2025
Junior doctors are well paid despite what their militant unions claim. Their union claims their wages have been eroded by 23% since 2006 but of course they are not comparing like with like. In 2006 their basic working week was 60 hours Now it is 37 hours a week. Any hours worked above that the get generous overtime payments.. If the Union want to them to paid at 2006 rates get them to work 60 hours a week like they use to. Junior Doctors now earn more in real terms than they did with just a modest amount of overtime. |

You still don't get it. It is private business and industries that drive growth and increase tax revenues that can be spent on services. Unfortunately heavily taxing business, reduces investments, increases unemployed leading to higher welfare bills, less income tax, less NI, less VAT, less corporation and ends up with everyone being less well off. |
 | Forum Reply | How Ukraine carried out daring 'Spider Web' attack on Russian bombers at 17:51 6 Jun 2025
Only because all the Russian ships in the black sea were either destroyed by Ukraine, which does not have a navy, or have retreated so far away the are no longer a threat. NATO has never attacked Russian as you well know. It is a defensive organisation that only exists to counter the the threat of Russian invasion in Europe. As you are also aware Russia has invaded Hungry, Czechoslovakia East Germany and Ukraine since the end of WWII all because those countries wanted independence from Russia. |

It seems the Russian ambassador is blaming the UK for the Ukrainian attacks which resulted in the loss of 40 of his country's aircraft. His rant reminds me of the mad hatters tea party. The only person to blame is PUTIN for his invasion of Ukraine. |

Yet when the Westminster government offered to fully fund the vital M4 relief road as part of the UK infrastructure programme you applauded Drakeford for refusing the money. |

Unfortunately Reeves, like you, that if you over tax people they have little incentive to work harder and be enterprising. The result is LESS TAX revenues not more. How on earth imposing a £30 Billion tax raid on business is going to increase growth and employment only you know. |
