St. Mirren 1-0 Aberdeen St Mirren retained their outside chance of attaining a European place with Mikael Mandron's second-half volley meaning Aberdeen fell three points adrift of Hibernian in the race to finish third. The home side had to win to preserve their Euro ambitions and did so thanks to striker Mandron, whose winner followed agreement on a contract extension for a further year. |

Braintree made sure of their National League status thanks to a 2-0 home win over Rochdale on the last day of the season. The Essex club were 19th heading into the match and needed a point to guarantee safety but ended up with all three against fourth-placed Dale, who will now turn their attention to the play-offs. The home side scrambled ahead through Kyrell Lisbie in first-half stoppage time and he doubled Braintree's lead 11 minutes into the second half. Congratulations to former U's players Steve Pitt and Karl Duguid for leading the fight for survival for The Iron! R. Clampin started and played 83' A. Judge started and played 92' C. Cooper started and played for the whole match I. Henderson started and played for 63' until being subbed off for former U's youth teamer T. Allarakhia. |

PAYNE WINS OFFICIAL POTY AWARD https://www.cu-fc.com/news/2025/may/02/payne-wins-official-poty-award/ Winners' List: General Manager's Performer of the Year - Serena Green Employee of the Year - Tina Williams Special Recognition Award - Jamie Newstead CUSA Away POTY - Fiacre Kelleher CUSA POTY - Jack Payne Young POTY - Jamie McDonnell Goal of the Season - Owura Edwards Players' POTY - Jack Payne Official POTY - Jack Payne Can't argue too much with that. However, it is interesting that Kelleher won the CUSA Away POTY when it is voted on the coaches after the away matches and considering he only played for half a season (after Donnelly left in Jan), he must have (and did) make a hell of an impact when he did (and does) play! |

Stockport County sealed their place in the League One play-offs with victory over a Huddersfield Town side who finished with 10 men. J. Fevrier started and played 60' before being subbed off. Still no sign of Mingi! Joe Taylor came on as an 85' sub for Hudds. [Post edited 24 Apr 1:08]

Northampton secured another season of League One football by thrashing already relegated Shrewsbury 4-1 at Sixfields on Easter Monday. Dara Costelloe scored two, one in either half, while Aaron McGowan and Cameron McGeehan were also on target as the Cobblers mathematically confirmed their survival. |

Notts County v Salford City first up Friday night! Salford still have a game in hand - but defeat versus the Magpies puts them out of the race for 7th,I reckon! Although, a win for Salford and a win for us, brings Notts closer to us! What an end to the season - better than the last 4 anyway! |

Stockport boosted their League One play-off hopes with a comfortable 3-0 win over Stevenage at Edgeley Park. Jayden Fevrier put County ahead while Luther James-Wildin's own goal and Jack Diamond's low finish after half-time secured victory. Mingi nowhere to be seen for the last few months!
