that position gave Kane's missus the perfect excuse to put the trophy cabinet in the garage. It'd be down the dump if he'd stayed

If kolli stays fit and builds some momentum/sharpness our forward world will feel a different place.
His movement is great, touch great and has pace. It's all still there, just been a frustrating 18 months full of niggles

This season......your thoughts.
at 13:56 27 Mar 2025

Predictably, the injuries have continued. Predictably the small and unbalanced squad has failed to cope. Predictably, some of the drive and belief has ebbed from the squad.

I think this is a little unfair. Bar Paal earlier in the season (notably against Boro), we've had cover for every position when the dreadful injuries kicked in. We have 4 defensive midfielders for 2 positions, 8 players to play in the 3 behind the striker. Cover at CH. Light on strikers, but we only play with 1 and have 3. We had a couple of players who didn't adapt to the league as hoped, but it's a tough league for those who have played in it for years, let alone a novice. Madson has really struggled as it's gone on, but he isn't a poor player. Next year we'll see if he's gonna kick on, or go back to a leagure that suits him better.
Bar Benny, who we haven't seen enough to judge, I think our squad is pretty well balanced for our budget, and I'm happy when most of our players have to step in. Obviously you want your best players on the pitch, but our purple patch started when we were rock bottom with injuries. The settled (picking itself) team found their feet and rhythm, post chopping and changing for weeks on end. You can't underestimate the force that is a settled side

he flapped at one cross the other night, and rightly so as Duane was coming in from thew other side. If he'd caught it he would have collided with Dunne and ball likely run free. he 'flapped'/palmed it past Dunne and then pounced on it.If you were influenced by the useless gosh!tes commentating on sky, pls don't be. they were all over it without assessing the situation properly. idiots. On other occasions he was completely blocked off, so that's on our defenders as much as anything. Look what happened to Dunne when he tried to make a nuisance of himself in their 6 years box..

Chair finally in the middle long term?

To clear up any confusion, we set up virtually every game as 4 2 3 1. Usually with F & V as the 2, but Morgan played there on Tues in lieu of Varane. The modern game obviously sees variation during the match. Field pushing on at times, Paal temporarily slipping into midfield at times etc

New Year transfer window rumours
at 12:56 30 Jan 2025

Wilson arrived as a very accomplished central midfielder. I used to go over there with my mate now and again before they got the money and my resentment kicked in, and has ended up ain a very unhealthy place…He was very silky in mid, carried the ball well etc. I think he ended up sitting in the left back chair due to injury, and the music never started again…

get him settled this season and maybe we get him next season. looks like a prospect that we might be happy to have around next year. + Smyth will need to be rested at some point. it's been pretty full on for him

I think Saito has proved beyond doubt that this is nonsense. Most could see that by a few games in. He shirks at nothing and his pace enables him to get solid tackles in when required. He also uses his body and pace well to get under and edge out players when defending. Dembele survived and was one of the highlights of League 1 last year, so maybe one shouldn't judge due to size. What do we wanna watch, 6ft 4" , 15 stone playmakers?

Ashby throwing the jersey to the floor

He and morgan linked up beautifully in the first half against Watford. Lots of great first time passes between them.
Both have been coached well, but as said before he just needs to not force it when the ideal pass isn’t on. He ain’t a bad player, bundles of energy, just needs to improve his decision making.

Might be frustrated at picking up an injury. Who knows, but he did give the ball away twice in the run up to the goal and more before that. Just couldn’t get on his game for some reason

The headline is far worse than the filmed interview. Personally, I think he’s talking about the performances they’re delivering as a team, rather than they’re a terrible group of players.
I think he acknowledges it’s on them all to fix as a group

Surgery on a hamstring probably all but finishes his season with the road back a potentially bumpy one.

Sam Field or no Sam Field?
at 10:07 12 Dec 2024

He is playing a different role currently. A role all previous managers have tried and ultimately switched back for whatever reason.
He is playing the more attacking of the two, due mostly because of his basic control of a football. He can’t be trusted to play in the deep role, as that requires a player to be able to collect and move the ball forward quickly. When he’s there the ball often goes straight back and not always in a precise way.
Last night in the first half the game passed him by in that role. Verane seemed to be playing both roles. Half time comes, Marty has a word and Field pushes further forward to where he’s supposed to be and he ends up playing a huge role in turning the game, goals aside. Was doing similar in the first half vs Watford and was the driver in the great play that lead to the Madsons chance. Verane is now the first on the team sheet in midfield, playing the deeper role. Field just needs to be consistent in the role he’s now being asked to play and he’ll start most games. I can’t watch the giraffe trying to trap a balloon situations we too often see in precarious situations that don’t allow for error. At best we end up with a pass going straight back where it came from. His control is better in stride.

It's a different beer altogether. That't'd be Guinness Extra, which is basically what the original Guinness was before they introduced the nitro version it to keep the pace with the influx of American largers. You can still buy it in the supermarkets here and pubs in Ireland. I mostly drink it when drinking at home. It's one for those who likes ales.
There's also a Nigerian export version that's about 8% and lovely

Appreciate we have 3 key injuries, but he’s the biggest difference between us in H2 last season vs this. His ability to keep us up the pitch when we need to go more direct can’t be underestimated.
It moves the whole team up the pitch, and when it’s more urgent he has the ability to go it alone.

I really don’t understand the hatchet many on here carry for him. He had a really bad injury that wasn’t being managed properly for a long period, especially during the Beale era. Ultimately, it just prolonged the issues. All this nonsense of calling it in along with the so called glass salter was embarrassing to read. Under Marti’s team they were our best 2, and most important players last season. Hands down.

Was gutted we couldn’t work out a deal with him, but we don’t actually know what that deal was, nor whether Cardiff are paying over the league odds for an attacking player with his known ability and stats.

Personally, I’ve been secretly hoping he doesn’t settle down there and ends up back here on loan. I’d have him back in a heartbeat
