In the overall scheme of things this is not the biggest thing to concern us but points at the dreadful way Trump's mind works. American people have free access to the National Parks on various days of the year including the anniversary of Martin Luther King's death. That free day has been cancelled and Trump's birthday added. I pray his narcissism helps bring about his downfall. |

The vast majority of us would not be aware of anything outside of the football. But what Keith says suggests there is something so can I respectfully ask posters to hold back on what they say. People can still be critical of mistakes but some of the things said previously have gone beyond mere criticism. |

The man is an embarrassment to every sane person in the world. I'm looking forward to the mid terms when his control will be removed to a very large extent. Then he will be just a lame duck President for two years until being replaced with someone with some sort of a clue about how to run a country. |

Isn't the difference already paid by the individual ? If the allowance is say £300 and the leasing of the car is £400 then they have to pay the £100 extra themselves. Don't they ? |

A couple of early yellow cards would have helped put a stop to that but the ref was awful. |

Correct. But the council still own the stadium and we pay £XXXX every year for the use of it. And do we maintain it as well ? Is there any council input for maintenance ? Will Wrexham council also be paid £XXXX a year for their financial input ? |

In the four nations submission for hosting the 2035 Womens World Cup they have named three stadiums in Wales to host games. Let's all try to guess where the three are without checking shall we ? |
 | Forum Thread | Violent Crime Down Not Up at 17:21 28 Nov 2025
An interesting article written on a media platform i'd never heard of called Substack says this 'The overall story in Britain – as far as two decades of police, survey and hospital records can attest – is of violent crime in steady decline. And strange as it may sound to say it, the streets of these islands are perhaps safer now than they have ever been.' I wonder how many of the rest of the media outlets we all know and love will report this good news. |
 | Forum Thread | the European Car Industry at 17:58 24 Nov 2025
I was listening to a guy being interviewed on Talk radio earlier. He was a car dealer selling BMW's among others. A couple of guys called into his showroom one day and asked him if he'd like to start selling Chinese cars instead. He said I laughed. Until they started talking numbers. He said that the Chinese manufacturers are happy to make ZERO profit for the next ten years because their aim is to take over the European mass car market completely. There will be niche makers not affected like Rolls Royce and Aston Martin etc but the rest will be in trouble. My first thought was for our car industry. But then he talked about Germany. I knew their car manufacturing market was huge but he said it makes up 25% of the entire German GDP ! Mind boggling. Can you imagine the effect on the whole German economy if they achieve their aim. |
 | Forum Reply | Increase tax, cut spending or borrow at 18:10 23 Nov 2025
Correct. In 1960 there were 4.1 taxpaying workers for every OAP. The number now is down to about 2.3. We need a birthrate of 2.1 to maintain the current level but the current actual birthrate is 1.7. I'm sure many people believe that successive governments have promoted immigration (legal) because people who want to migrate to the UK are for the most part young so will have children. And, to a large extent they come from cultures where they tend to have more children than your average british couples. But we all know people's attitude toward immigration these days don't we. So how do you get around it ? The obvious answer is for british people to have more children. Simple. But millions of people say they can't afford to have more children because the cost of raising them is so high. In spite of that some people do have more than two. But then they struggle with the cost of living because they can't claim benefits for their third/fourth etc child. And when it's suggested that the two child benefit cap is removed there's a huge argument against increasing the welfare bill. And anyway the skiving layabouts should get out and get a job, if their not already working which millions of them are, to pay their own way. But the welfare bill will still get higher and higher because we'll have more and more pensioners with less and less tax payers. So eventually all taxes will go on welfare. But we're not willing to help people have more children. But never mind, lets just have more immigration. What on earth will good old Nigel say. |
 | Forum Reply | Two-tier taxes? Are there different rules for ministers? at 17:35 23 Nov 2025
I know. When I get our council tax bill it may state I owe say £2000. And £200 is deducted from my account over ten months. I don't know what it might say if it was a rental or whatever but if I was told to pay £2000 that's what i'd pay. |

I don't understand people. Why on earth can't we wait and see what happened before commenting ? 'They (his people I believe) insisted Mr Healey had “fulfilled all his obligations as a tenant by notifying Westminster council of the second home status of the tenancy on the council tax registration form when the tenancy began”, adding that he had now paid all tax in full. While the council accepted it had made an error, the Tories said Mr Healey still had questions to answer about why he had failed to notify the council of the underpayment when he received the “incorrect” bill.' Does anyone on here know what the wording on the bill would have been for him to know it was the 'incorrect bill' ? I don't. I bet the vast majority of the rest of you don't either. Why not wait until you know. |

Even the people on here who admire Trump have to admit that this so called peace plan is a pathetically stupid one and is virtually impossible for Ukraine to accept. |
