Could’ve activated a clause and had him for around half what we ultimately paid for him at the end of last season but we didn’t as we didn’t think he was worth it. Cue a bad start to the season and fans grumbling about the sacking of a popular manager and a placebo was needed. Unfortunately two other teams were now interested and we had to pay wildly over the odds. Same with Edwards, good player with plenty of promise but simply not a smart use of limited funds. A terrible Xmas and slow January though and again a placebo was needed. The issue of running the club based on messageboard feelings, and let’s be honest it a not a new topic, QPR have been run for decades now based upon fan sentiment rather than business or football logic. |

Very senior players were openly discussing internal issues infront of supporters at the training ground earlier this year. The atmosphere/respect level has been desperately poor for a while. |

The ultimate example of someone being ‘QPR’d’ |

I mean he’s been very open about the fact that most of what he posts he gets directly from agents wanting their clients name out there, the rest he either steals and ‘credits’ long after the fact or just outright makes up. There is a reason he doesn’t ‘break’ actual big stories. The only people in football who are directly ‘itk’ are DOFs, agents and small market local journalists who spend their life at training grounds and foster personal connections. And two of those three use information strategically to their advantage. |

I obviously can’t say how I know, and don’t want to talk badly about Dave Mc who has to act as Comical Ali for Nourry now to gain any access to the club, but I can assure you that CFG didn’t walk away from the £5m agreed with Derby to sell him to us for £2.8m. |

Had to watch the first goal back as I thought I’d missed something obvious but indeed it’s still clearly caused by Saito, as per usual, not closing down his man, meaning Esquardinha has to cover the line and allowing a piss easy triangle to get them in behind. A truly shocking waste of £5m. |

lol, none of those kids will get any meaningful minutes between now and the end of the season. |
 | Forum Reply | Ben Williams and his team at 18:36 25 Feb 2026
All you need to know about Williams’ position at the club and closeness to Nourry is that he can sack a beloved former player turned academy manager on a whim and be backed up. |

Unrealised add-ons are a non-cash item but are considered at point of acquisition. |

And statements like these illuminate exactly why if you catch Hoos at the right time he will admit they’re far from happy with his performance as CEO. A key component of any effective C-suite member is the ability to acknowledge when things haven’t gone to plan and communicate a strategy to rectify them. The Comical Ali style insistence that our reality is imagined and all is bang on target is completely counterproductive and just destroys your credibility on the (few) occasions you’re telling the truth. There is a well established reason that medium sized businesses don’t appoint people in their mid 20s to executive positions based upon their well connected parents’ black books. |

Yes, as said in the Field thread earlier this week, the plan was to get Morgan out playing games which would’ve been great for him but they had to pivot when Norwich made a good offer and Field wanted the move. On no incoming loans, purely my opinion but I think it was a mix of lack of funds but more lack of an obvious move to make - we could do with a proper RB but Mbengue, Dunne and Edwards can suffice for the rest of this season, you could make a case for a young backup CF with Burrell out for a little while and now Obikwu also, and they might have gone for that if they’d managed to get Kolli out, but it was far from a desperate need and any young PL striker wouldn’t be sent to warm the bench anyway. Better to keep your powder dry. |

He was free Bri - Antwerp waived any fee in return for him tearing up his deal there. [Post edited 5 Feb 9:31]

I mean in fairness the plan was to loan out Morgan but a good offer came in for Field and they had to pivot, especially as Field wanted to go and play. There seems to be a general underestimation of how much they’ve spent and the need to recover funds. |

I mean insinuating Cook might be even 1% responsible for Kakay playing in the Slovakian leagues is certainly an opinion…. |

As others have said, some good, some extremely bad. Blacklisting loyal fans like Norf for not toeing party lines and refusing access to media who won’t act as personal PR plus a total blind spot to his mate Williams and the issues he’s causing around the club being his two most egregious errors. FWIW, *allegedly* (important to add) his position as ‘CEO’ at least is substantially more precarious than you might imagine. |
