I actually agree with most of what you say regarding Nourry, he is coming across as quite impressive. Certainly the Bould appointment was a good surprise. But, its a tad unfair to sum up the Ferdinand era with the team that turned out against Watford two years ago. I would argue that both Ferdinand and Hoos guided the club through some tough times with interfering owners grabbing the wheel whenever they felt like it. Anyway, Mbengue looks a great signing. Couple more in this vein and we should be in reasonable shape. |

Under pressure from who? How do you know this? Loved watching the football under Cifuente’s, god did we need him after the ridiculous appointment of Ainsworth. For me, that was far worse than anything that has happened under Nourry’s watch. |

Its already an improvement (step in the right direction) to have players that clubs are interested in. Hope the club have faith in the system and their ability to coach him further. Do wonder whether he and his agent are engineering this as he does want to move though |

I think we had the advantage of being able to take players from clubs in the same division back then given we were seen as a bigger comparably. I bet even with the admin we were still paying more than many, (probably a large reason for the admin) |

Agree! I think that continued into the early 90's, probably until we got the Ferdinand money which was then spent poorly. But my god! That was a while ago now :) |

Trying to recall a recruitment team that got it right! I think the club historically has always recruited better when on a budget. The Madsen and Celar signings relatively speaking were small outlays that were unlikely to have immediate impact. Just a shame those small outlays were the majority the budget. Not going to join in with the bedwetters here with regards to Nourry, the jury is still out for me. |

Was there ever a time people didn't moan about transfers? |
 | Forum Reply | cook extension official ✅ at 18:43 13 May 2025
Don’t get this at all, the statement includes references to how Cook has become a hugely important figure at the club. Nourry states that cook was vital to the club maintaining championship status. So, is it because the reference to the clause being triggered is the headline that has gotten peoples knickers in a twist? Be weird to suggest Cook has signed a contract extension when he hasn’t! |

And then clubs like Coventry and Bristol City make it to the playoffs. We keep talking about how much harder it gets but I'm not so sure. The hardest part is still getting your own house in order and playing good consistent football |
 | Forum Reply | Marti, stick or twist? at 22:00 20 Apr 2025
It’s definitely a stick for me. As for the problem being low expectations from the fanbase, then yes, maybe although I would call it realistic, I support QPR not f**king Barcelona. I go and watch once a week sometimes two, mainly to hang out with some friends and have a beer or two,. wtf am I meant to do to improve performances on pitch? Also can’t understand people saying they wouldn’t want a Noury yes man in charge, so having a Manager at odds with the over arching plan (however possibly bad that plan is) is better than having someone who has bought into that plan and is actively trying to make it work? Running a successful (relatively) football club is f**king hard, which is why few clubs manage to achieve it. |

I'm in a similar position as you with knowing a good many people in Ukraine, due to so many tech teams being based out of there, the quality of Kyiv Polytechnic among others is producing so many good quality devs. Sadly, I've lost a colleague to the war who was called up as a reservist on day 1 and have another in hospital recovering from serious wounds. Others like you say are scared to leave to the house in Kyiv for fear of being picked up and forcibly enlisted. But, this could end tomorrow if the Russians withdrew. My view is that it should really come down to Ukraines allies helping to put Ukraine in the best position for it to negotiate peace, to retain as much of its sovereign land as possible and to ensure that this does not happen again in 2, 3, 4 or 5 years. What is happening is the opposite of that with Russia being put into an ascendancy. Supporters of Trump appear to like his negotiating style, I can't help but see it as very simplistic. Maybe I am just not smart enough to understand his weaving |

Maybe... There was a lot wrong with that team at the start of the season. |
 | Forum Reply | Madsen Mins at 20:56 8 Jan 2025
It could be that he would be better in a team playing the style of football that Cifuentes actually wants the team to play. I can't imagine he goes out there with the intent of not getting involved, its more likely that the style just doesn't suit. Reckon Cifuentes will have another go at changing the style beginning of next season, may see him back in at that point. But he could equally be on his way. Either way it will be Cifuentes decision |

One can only imagine! And in public too! |

I thought I saw mention of it being a soft tissue injury? Maybe something Cifuentes said hoping to be true though. If true then 6 weeks, if not then no idea |
