Remaining copies of the paperback edition of the Official History of Portsmouth FC, celebrating 125 seasons, are going on sale from Thursday May 1 for just £15 (reduced from £25) – with all the proceeds going to ‘Pompey Family’ charities.

Pompey in the Community, the Pompey History Society and Alan Knight’s designated prostate cancer charities, will be the beneficiaries after the book’s publisher Bishops Printers donated the remaining stock.

In its 420 pages, the book tells the story of the club in words, pictures and statistics, is a must for every Pompey fan. The paperback edition includes sections on the men’s and women’s teams title triumphs in 2023/24.

Editor of the book Colin Farmery said: “This is a fantastic gesture by Bishops which gives every Pompey fan the opportunity to not only own the wonderful history of their club but also give money to some causes close to all our hearts.

“The fantastic work of Pompey in the Community is already well known, while the Pompey History Society is looking to raise £25,000 this year to bring Peter Harris’s championship medals in to the archive.

“In addition, Knightsie’s battle with prostate cancer is an inspiration to us all, so it is only right these charities should benefit too.”

The book will be on sale at the Pompey Store in Anson Road, New to You Books in High Street, Cosham and the Portsmouth City Museum and Art Gallery shop in Museum Road.

In addition, the Pompey History Society will also have a pop-up store in the Fan Zone pre-match at the Alan Knight benefit game on Monday May 5. Copies can be sent by post. Click here to order.
