Going Dutch as well as Slovakian - Pompey's pre-season plan finalised Thursday, 3rd Jul 2025 20:08 by Pompey-fans.com staff A Slovakian trip, Dutch opponents and an assortment of visits to league and non-league clubs make up Pompey's pre-season programme of action - and its start is just days away. Pompey this week announced they will complete their pre-season programme by welcoming Dutch top-flight opponents PEC Zwolle on Saturday, August 2 (3pm). It will follow on from previously announced friendlies against Woking, Farnborough, Crawley, Reading and the Hawks. All those are preceded by next week's training camp in Slovakia - in which fans won't see them play a game but will be able to watch an open training session. Announcing the Fratton friendly, Pompey said: 'PEC Zwolle finished 10th in the Eredivisie last season and just missed out on qualifying for the European play-offs. Their most notable achievement arguably arrived in 2014, when the side thrashed Ajax 5-1 to lift the KNVB Cup for the first time. 'They then defeated the same opponents again a few months later to win the Johan Cruyff Shield – the Dutch equivalent of the Community Shield. Ticket information for this game will be announced in due course.'
