Evan Watts a name to watch out for from the scholars. But you can say that about most of them, it's a strong group.

So that'll be about four years past the time we should have parted ways that Routs will still be here. Nice work if you can get it.

Routledge was effectively finished 5 yrs ago. A 4 yr extension was bad but this is proof lunatics are running our asylum for those deemed to be Jacks,by dint of them being employed by our club. Sick joke

I was wondering what the terms of his offer were going to be. He's going to be out until December (?). If we were in the market to get a striker that we could pay 20k a week for then surely we could get an upgrade for 30K and no Routledge. I'm sure the money guys can work out a compromise in there somewhere.

Guess it depends what role we see him playing, could be more coaching + working with the plethora of youngsters we have in our squad & be available to play as of need. He is clearly well respected by both fellow players & management team - might suggest Cooper is staying.

TBF Routledge has been praised by every manager we've had during his time. I still think he should have been played as central attacking midfield in the Championship. It is also rare for a player to be injured so close to the end of a season and contract to be released. I think insurance will cover a fair amount of his wages.

What would Routledge accomplish behind a striker? He isn't a creative passer or finisher. Done well for us leading the line with his movement in behind but doesn't beat his man with the ball often enough to play out wide either.

His hold up play is one of the best in the club though.

This is what I want to hear. Swansea need to buy rough diamonds and polish them up at Landore. The local kids need to shape up fast. The club is not a social service.

The local kids are the real diamonds. Watts, Lloyd and Cotterill could be among the best we've produced.
