There seems to be a sense of everyone/thing pulling in the same direction, which hasn't always been the case in recent years, or at all since we got relegated from the Prem if we're being honest. Sometimes having clear goals that all involved are working towards is half the battle.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't still have concerns about how a lot of this is being paid for, but at the moment we're in a good place.

Basically all the evidence from Scotland suggests that minimum unit price is as big a waste of time as the 20mph limit, but these bastards just won't leave us alone.

They know best for us, and will hector us to our deaths about it if needs be.

Is the three week break too long ?
at 20:15 1 Oct 2026

It shouldn't be too difficult to play 8 qualifying games in four one week breaks throughout two seasons. Two games in a week, say on a Wednesday and a Saturday. Then back to your club for the following weekend game.

That's it. No other International games need be played other than the tournaments themselves.

Has Burnham focussed yet on the National debt?
at 14:56 1 Oct 2026

Nothing to do with them.

Successive Goverments who have failed to get to grip.with spending and allowed national debt interest payments to spiral to over £100bn a year have got us here.

We are now considered untrustworthy borrowers and so the cost of borrowing has rocketed.

The problem is Government intervention. The vast majority of the time the problem is Government intervention.

Let energy companies get on with the business of competing with each other whilst keeping oversight/regulation as low as possible and prices will come down. That's what happens in basically every other industry.

The idea that the same kind of Government that can't even get the NHS to work properly despite 1.5m employees and a budget north of £200bn could manage power supply as well is insane. We'd all have to go back to candles and coal.

Very little probably. Even Starmer managed to mostly keep his mouth shut about Arsenal.

Seems that the plan was to kill the other pilot and then crash the plane somewhere in Tel Aviv.

Sheer fortune that the pilot was brave/strong enough to get the cockpit door open despite being stabbed and that there was another flight crew deadheading on the same plane.

The absolute contempt that the Government has for the people is making it more and more likely that they're ultimately not answering to them.

Jacinda Ardern is another one. A Blair protege who screwed New Zealand and now lives in a multi-million dollar beachfront house in Sydney. Job done, payoff received.

The scale of the cheating was for about eight or nine seasons wasn't it? And that's not even going into the ongoing issues with them failing to provide evidence which means that the cheating might still be going on, or the fact that their entire modern structure is based on that cheating.

In addition to forcing the owners to sell, casting them into non-league and stripping them of every trophy won, I'd also ban them from the Prem for the same number of seasons so even if they win their way straight back to the Championship they're still not allowed back into the top flight.

It's nothing to do with Burnham and the FA should tell him to butt out if he gets involved again.

I thoight that the last Government had run its course, but Starmer and Burnham are making Sunak look like Churchill.

It's possible that there will be "class action" legal cases as opposed to individual ones on the level of the players maybe. Perhaps the PFA will get involved. The clubs may want to go their own way, although I probably shouldn't rule out a couple of them getting together either.

This is the thing. Any deal they agree with the FA can't include the individual players and clubs. I don't see how it can.

Read a bit more about this, and then tell me that this isn't basically what's happening in every developed "Western" country.

They have to be absolutely hammered, because if they're not then there's no deterrent.

Hundreds of millions in fines, to be paid out of actual club income. Stripped of every trophy for the relevant period, with further investigations into everything that they've won since (apparently they've also failed to provide requested evidence for subsequent seasons) because it's all been built on fraud. Relegation to the lowest level that will take them.

And that's just the footballing sanctions. The other legal issues that they'll face (HMRC investigation, compensation claims from other clubs) should come too.

The South Korean Military Intelligence Corps needs to get him trained up and a proper workstation installed in his flat. He can "National Service" from home after training then.

Either that or one of those nifty drone operating stations.

We've started well but it's a long season.

Our struggle to create opportunities against certain teams even despite our good start hasn't really convinced me that we can afford to easily dispense with a player like Walta, especially considering how little Just is contributing in that AM role so far.

So far I'm getting a bit of an early 2010/11 season vibe. We're doing well, but we could be doing even better with some actual creative quality in that role. It took Rodgers a bit too long to play Stephen Dobbie. Had we done so earlier in the season we could well have gone up automatically.

Social media have been smashing it lately what with this and the recent one on Carter Heywood.

Really good to get an insight into the "behind the scenes" stuff at the club, although a bit ironic that the first player who really interacts with him is Josh Key, also now out for a spell.
