 | Forum Reply | WLS - Edwards might be moved into QPR’s midfield at 09:14 11 Mar 2026
Where did I make a literal reference? It was more the sentiment. E.G. 'while our midfielder is killing it for Norwich', 'it was smart to let Field go...' etc etc. Rose-tintedness? The same 'If Kolli was playing...' vibe. Just smacks of a desperate need to find answers. Like Cook; it felt like there was clamour to get Edwards into the team after his 'pre-season' phase and Cook played poorly against Blackburn (I think) where we couldn't get the ball forward from defence. Yes, re-installing him (whatever contract issues aside) might stop the goals but we could lose out in another area. Personal opinion, but I rate Edwards to be better on the ball. Could Field have been a serious option at LB for more than one game? Anyway, it's all moot because the guy wanted to play and wanted action in his position. |

I love the way that Sam Field has become suddenly the answer to most of our problems. Try Edwards in midfield; why not? It's just a shame that we don't have anyone who can play the role role/purpose as Madsen. Morgan has that potential, with more mobility. |

Dejection. But then it’s all just so temporary and quite confusing. A bigger effort and fortuitous win against Birmingham and this schizophrenic season emotionally flops the other way again. Maybe the apathy is linked to the fact that the supporter base can do FA about the situation. We don’t even know what is going on with our own players, nevermind the machinations of the club. |
 | Forum Reply | Koki Saito at 08:59 10 Mar 2026
He's a good player. But it looks like he's been coached to form part of the system, rather than being on the pitch and able to use his strengths (dribbling, taking on the defenders, looking for space between the lines). It's a shame. |

There were mistakes, too much respect for 'Boro but, above all, a chronic lack of confidence. We looked nervy. I can understand people getting hysterical over the scoreline and the recent results - in what we all knew was a tough gamut of games - but I didn't feel the performance was horrific. Certainly not 0-4 level. There was a point in the first half where Morgan (whose brief was probably to pick up Hackney, the best player on the pitch) pointed to his player's run as he drive forward. I think it was for their first goal. We weren't smart enough to break-up their midfield shapes and gave up on shadowing Hackney to our detriment. I thought Varane broke up a few attacks in the second half and improved on a first half showing that was pretty wretched. It's hard to see how he has kept Sam Field out of the team, unless we are just trying to fatten a goose for market. Varane, as we know, is quite adept at robbing the ball and he did is a few times yesterday. How we miss a player like Madsen who does everything with 1-2 touches and uses the second ball so well. Major frustration was Walsh. Dominate your area a bit more mate. Come and get the ball and take pressure off the defence at close quarters. Being lobbed from just outside the 6-yard box for their second was infuriating. We're a team that's learning, for the most part. |

A very abject and disjointed team performance with little confidence. Walsh needs to boss the area better for the third goal and Cook was poor (while seeming to be quick to blame other people). Maybe a bit harsh with the substitutions issue? It seemed the Kone and Madsen injuries/stoppages caused a lot of stop-start and indecision. |

I think he's clearly being coached to work on all elements of his game; his positioning, tracking back, awareness of team shape. Unfortunately, it has eclipsed some of the characteristics that made him exciting and likeable: he rarely seems to take on players any more, and that employ that little surge of acceleration to scare defenders and get him into some useful positions in tight/weird spaces. When he first came back he also seemed to veer inside, and be quite good at breaking the lines and picking up the ball (something that Kolli did quite decently last night). I'm hoping someone at HQ can start using Saito for his strengths. |

Echoing the thanks Clive. You've heard it hundreds of times, but the post-match reports you post here has become a fundamental part of the 'match/QPR experience'. A comment on Saito: I thought his movement and first touch was first class. Charlton clearly didn't know how to handle him. I thought he filled that role much better than Chair, whose tendency to hold onto the ball far too long is a weakness that he should have improved by now. Saito is also more dynamic than Dembele; even if they are cut a little from the same cloth. The Twitter business is pretty awful. As an overseas season ticket holder, I like to read and learn of your post-match reactions, so have you considered Blue Sky? Or, perhaps via Patreon, set up a Discord channel where you can publish work and interact with people that appreciate your material? It's a way to weed-out the goons and the gimps. |

Why do these gimps on Twitter feel the need to sit there and make stuff up? Bizarre existence. |

Not bad. Very white at the top. Also, why are the studio shots of the kits on the website so bad? |

It won't happen...but I'd like to see an explanation of why his term finished the way it did. If it was a fall out then due to what cause? I hope both sides can offer up some details in the near future. |

Not sure how many here like motorsports or having a passing interest in motorcycle racing but my book about MotoGP was published yesterday. If anyone fancies a punt then here's the Amazon link (or it can be found/ordered through any bookshop): https://amzn.eu/d/hUoFLrk Thanks to Clive for allowing the promo! |

Great point about Morrison. It would also be a great time for the club and the player to sort that Jimmy Dunne contract. |

Kenny was amazing that season. Easily saved a lot of points. |
