What infrastructure has been allowed to rot ? Investment in the grid system has been ongoing for at least 15 years and now with a record capital investment of nearly £10 billion with plans to invest nearly £60 billion over the next 5 years I’d say the opposite . |

And your leader choses, yes choses to not drop the fuel duty rate unlike many other eu countries., why is that do you think ? |

and capitalism in many forms gives the lower "classes" an opportuntity to become wealthier ,something denied by a totalitarian state ,something which this country is heading towards imo. |

it would seem most of those eligible to be conscripted would agre with you. IMO nothing wrong in obtaining discipline either imposed or self and providing a service to the country as well as for some learning a much needed trade .Maybe thats the reason some today seem so feckless because of not being disciplined ? |

I didn’t expect nor want you to agree with me , but just a nod in your direction to say when was the last time conscription was ever mentioned as something to be considered as is now ? |

Some wag should start using the term " duvet " ,that'll upset the sensibilities of the woke . |

Its not the fact that National Grid is privately owned , which is bonkers, its the fact that we could be self sufficent in fuelling gas, coal or oil fired powerstaions not forgetting nuclear + our interconnectors between europe but not having a stateic plan on how to replace all the ones now closed , we had in s Wales alone Pembroke, Aberthaw, Usksmouth Rogerstone all with the exception of Pembroke closed with nothing to replace them ,its the drive towards renewables without an interim plan which is bonkers .National Grid probably has the most stable network in Europe dispite its connection issues . |

There wasn't in the 80'as either , certainly not the norm amongst the 22 year olds , the steady decline in home ownership has been since the early 90's so why the angst now . |

It would seem that the police are not in step with the government confidence in having the most restrictive parole conditions placed upon the released , they’re saying they don’t have the resources to manage them effectively. |

Anyone who belives that its easy to just bury HV conductors underground is mistaken , its on average 4.5 times more expensive to bury than to use the overhead line method .,and if a whole route was buried how would those cables be kept cool so it's not just dig a hole and stick them in . There are a few but sections of routes buried but in the main they're overhead for reasons , one cost , another maintenance and repair. Those in the countryside want a reliable and regular supply of energy as long as it dosen't spoil their view, once anyone mentions pylons there's a glut of letters to the editor |
 | Forum Reply | RAF Fairford at 11:07 1 Oct 2026
In your opinion of course. |
 | Forum Reply | Wasted Wind Energy - Utter Madness at 11:06 1 Oct 2026
That's because its an open market, we have the capability to do the builds ourself ,with many projects currently ongoing with a mix of public and private investment , although we do seem to rely on overseas countries to manufacture wind turbines and its associated HV equipment .People, businesses etc want cheap energy so would you not expect that the tendering process to consider cheaper options ? |

We were in a better place as a country then ( and that was bad) than it is now , wouldn't you agree .Trump wasn't so dismissive if the UK as he is now and trade wars have always existed in one form or another , now our security as a country is at its lowest since the early the mid 70's and falling . |

If you ever need an example of how to p*** off your allies in a turbulant world then vote in a Labour government because this lot have taken the art of being so out of their depth and dangerous to another level .Our standing in the world must be at an all time low and we're now seemingly not to be trusted and rightly so .Well done labour you've managed ,in two years, to bring us to poverty, a trade & global war. |

They're emptying the prisons in preparation for the arrivals of newly sentenced and to be protestors who want to defend the country from the "new Welsh" and other miscreants such as face book warriors. |

Its been happening for years , the planning consent doesn't align with the grid ability to allow say a 1000mw to be connected so the wind farm gets built but the turbines remain inoperable which isn't condusive to its mechanical needs nor to the locals who may have objected to the wind farm being built in the first place. |

And yet it’s the rich who create the wealth & wealth and with the current punitive tax rises are driving millionaires etc from the country .Labour’s current strategy is to make the majority equally as poor . |
