Swindon have a record of two draws and five defeats from their last seven games. One goal scored and 15 conceded. |

FGR and Dale Vince may have been a trifle premature. The local paper in Peterborough has a photo of Karl Robinson above quotes from Barry Fry to the effect that interviews are ongoing and an announcement not expected until next Monday. |

Plus the fact that we’ve already paid fees for Jenkins, Hayes and Middleton. |

Presumably Salford would be looking to recover some of the largish fee that they paid Exeter for Bird. And, no disrespect to the player, scoring chances will be there for him in abundance the way that Boreham Wood are playing at the moment. |

Can he operate in a world in which a transfer window exists? |

I used to drink in the Plough Inn on Oldham Road then and on a Saturday afternoon it was easier to get one bus to Boundary Park rather than two to Spotland so quite a few people chose the former. Having said that you have to be over 40 to really remember watching Oldham in the Premier League which rules out a lot of their current fanbase. |

A lot of Oldham fans on social media seem to think that Flat Cap Frank has either run out of money or has drastically tightened the purse strings. More blame being pointed at him and the CEO than Mellon. |

I couldn’t believe until I saw it that the referee at Boundary Park blew early for halftime and then restarted the game after his error had been pointed out to him. |

After some justifiable criticism following the Crawley game I thought IW got his substitutions spot on especially the introduction of Mani D and Rodney although perhaps Francis could have come on sooner. Flint took his goal with real aplomb as well as producing a warrior like performance in defence. The man’s a winner. The prospect of Smith and Middleton starting every week with Hayes coming onto to torment tiring defenders is a mouthwatering one. The only slightly disappointing note was the way in which Fleetwood seized control of midfield midway through the first half. And Lord knows who plays leftback on Saturday. An away day to rank amongst the best though. Great atmosphere and a battling performance. |

I couldn’t agree more. The rule doesn’t apply in rugby and you can miss half the game if you’re unlucky with a constant stream of people going backwards and forwards to bars and/or toilets. The strange thing is that I can never really remember a drinking through the game culture existing at Spotland before the ban came into place? |

It’s reported in some of this morning’s papers that the Prime Minister is to consider repealing laws which prevent fans from drinking alcohol whilst watching the game. He says that that they’re “outdated”. Personally I’m not so sure that it will improve things especially given the modern tendency to throw beer into the air when a goal is scored. The clubs may well back the idea as another revenue stream. The police, on the other hand, have asked for a meeting to “express their concerns”. |

Swingeing cuts proposed to the BBC Sports budget including scrapping live commentaries from away games. Plenty of journalists could be made redundant. |
