I'd go 5 at the back but with the wingbacks being much more attacking and rest of midfield being more central. Something like .. Vig Cabango Casey Burgess Parker (RWB) Tymon (LWB) Stamenic Franco Widell Galbraith Vipotnik |

I wouldn't count at it. During the season training is more geared around "maintaining fitness levels" not massively improving, will be difficult with the schedule. We may have to wait to get next season's pre-season done to see any major improvement in that department unless they bring players in January who are used to playing at this intensity. |

Why the rush to replace? He's not having a good season, but has been fairly consistent for us before 25/26. He should be dropped from the first team I agree, but even if we bring a new right back in as first choice he would still be needed as a good cover option for the bench. I think he's probably been out most consistent weak player this season (from the established players) and it's only natural as fans we look for the weakest link and take aim as the first place that needs improvement. Just part and parcel if the game I'm afraid. |

I can't ever see him being prolific for us, and as a result not a regular starter, but he's still a decent squad player to have on the bench and bring on to try to either change a game or see a result out. He can play a variety of roles, so until we bring in better, he's a welcome and useful squad member for me. |

They're investors. Not hands on. Yes high profile which attract headlines, but they pass on their money to have a little stake and assume they'll get that back with interest one day. I wasn't expecting them to do anything else. |

He'll be heading to Saudi in January with a nice hefty pay jump on his twilight years and Liverpool will get a decent fee for an ageing player they no longer see being the main man to lead their attack. Shame his ending will be tarnished that way but I suspect both club and player will be happy with the outcome, even if the fans are not |

Any update on them coming in? Are these men now effectively unemployed and without a wage having left Martimo or are they still with the club pending release? I'm assuming we can't even compensate them financially if they've left and not got a work permit? Has this happened anywhere else that anyone is aware of where a new coach is waiting over 2 weeks for his backroom team to join him? Talk about having to do a job with one hand tied behind your back! |

Issue is, I don't think he can score from outside the 6yd box. Is shooting is weak as pi$$ |

Matos picked the right team. Whether Key was ill or dropped moving Galbraith to RWB and bringing a more energetic Widell in was absolutely the correct call. Eom had his best game in a Swans shirt for a very long time, he did drop off on the second half but so did many others, I think that's due to the tempo Matos expects us to play, the boys haven't been conditioned pre-season for this style so I would expect to see much of the same for the rest of this season... Very positive starts with tired edd kicking in after 65 minutes resulting in more mistakes happening and the overall pace slowing down. That's where the subs will become crucial, and he got that right today to see the game out. Be interesting to see what Matos does in January, I'd like him to bring another RB in to challenge/push Key or maybe it's time to give Parker some more minutes and see what he can do. I think players brought in will be ones with great engines, who can play with the intensity Matos wants for 75-80 minutes (although he may already have one of those in Yalcoure). Word on Stamenic, I think he's an absolute Gem in midfield, reads the game well, strong in the tackle and in the air and has a wide range of passes that he uses. It's nice to see a deep midfielder trying diagonal balls, balls over the top and traditional through balls. We've not seen that in any other holding midfielders for years and is a pleasure to watch. Yes he passes backwards and sideways too, every player in every position does, that's football, but he also tries a range of other balls too. Also Galbraith very good and Tymon brilliant yesterday. No reason we can't be confident of picking up the 3pts on Tuesday. [Post edited 7 Dec 9:45]

Agree he needs to stay there unless we did into the market in January and get an upgrade on Key. |

He had a good first half (best I've seen him play in a very long time), but faded slightly second half. Hope he can reproduce that first half performance more consistently. But one swallow.... And all that! |

I think Yalcoure could thrive under Matos tactics of high energy/high press. He won't stop running and has more quality than Cullen who has a similar desire to challenge and win the ball back. Agree with a previous poster that our right side looks weak and should be the main focus in January along with another experienced CB to put more pressure on Cabango and Burgess. |
