Part of me is surprised that the big English clubs haven't tried to negotiate their own TV deals. And maybe one day they will. But would it really be in their interests? But they already have by floating the European Super League. [Post edited 1 Oct 22:15]

Don't forget the influence (control) broadcasters have. The main Italian broadcaster (RAI) had exclusivity until Italian law changed to allow individual clubs to negotiate their own deals. Predictably, Juventus and AC Milan signed massive deals and the Oldhams and Lutons of Serie A got gob-bummed. The Premier League was only ever founded to maximise commercial revenues for it's members and by extension, itself. In retaining collective bargaining power, they could play Sky against everyone else (LWT/ITV, BBC, Setanta (LOL), BT Sports) and profit. PL revenues are four times those of FIFA year on year. In typical Rangers fashion we fell into the proverbial barrel of tìts and came out sucking our thumb. I would love to see the whole stinking edifice come crashing down and specifically a 15 acre site on the Fulham Road razed to the ground and sowed with salt but there's just too much money involved. |

Because on a deep-seated, fundamental, almost subatomic level, Chel***are cùnts. |

Their insta says not but I'll guess we'll see. This was a neighbourhood pub on Uxbridge Road before it was anything else. That’s the bit we didn’t want to lose. There’s a version of this project where we strip it back and it ends up feeling like a restaurant with a bar bolted on. We’re not doing that. The bar running the length of the room, the snug, the way people naturally cluster round it, that stays. We’re building the kitchen and the fire in around the pub, not the other way round |

The quality of the touch from Adel was so good i reckon I'd have scored that myself. |

You'd still have a fair proportion of QPR supporters cupping Joey Barton's balls and praising his 'pashun' |

I'm not disagreeing but what's viewed as "ghastly" over the canapés at a dinner party often becomes much more socially acceptable once the cheese and port has gone round a couple of times. |

Careful now. Qualifying for a major tournament first would be a definite step in the right direction. |

I was drinking in the Loft for the beam-back of the Oldham play-off semi first leg but can't say if it was officially sanctioned or not. Tickets to the actual game were like rocking horse shìt. |

Exact same circumstances as the Soutar brothers - citizenship. Their mother was born in Australia so Harry qualifies to play for them. His brother John plays for some random outpost. Closer to home, Joe and Steve Gallen played for the Republic of Ireland, Kevin played for England, all U21 level although there was talk of Kevin getting a call for the Irish senior team at one stage |

Would echo the Highline as others have said. Give the oysters and lobster in the Lobster Place in Chel*** Village a go - spenny but worth it if you like your seafood fresh. https://www.lobsterplace.com/m If the weather's good, get the East River ferry over to Brooklyn (Williamsburg) - there's a food market there on Saturdays that has 50+ different stalls (had a po' boy last time that was the nuts). Good pubs around there too (the Kent, the Bedford) https://smorgasburg.com/new-yo |

The cheeky, suggestive sexual references ("drive the women crazy" / "running at your box") captures the very essence of the Dubliners á la "Seven Drunken Nights" It'll be banned by RTE of course but that's no bad thing. |
