Man City - GUILTY

Well, ending a sentence with the word "coincidence?" is what conspiracy theorists to. There are relationships between the UAE and lots and lots of people

Actually, he said, "Let's get ready to rumble." Henry V was related to the Ruffers on his mother's side.

Thought about going, but I know what happens. Didn't seem any point.

Also, I can't believe Steve Martin and Adam Sandler as William and Harold. Stunt casting.

Yes, coincidence. The DCMS didn't have to approve takeovers (it would be the DTI, anyway). And Burnham could not have known at that point that he would become mayor of Greater Manchester eight years later.

Unless you're suggesting that in 2008, the UAE recruited Burnham, then helped the Tories win the 2010 election so he'd have a reason to leave, but kept him in place in parliament till 2016, when they moved him out to Manchester to run for election, so he could be their puppet? It seems a bit convoluted to me.

Other kits you like
at 14:42 24 Sep 2026

I think age determines kit preferences. I think they're all rubbish after sponsors names were put on them.

Some of my favourites from childhood …
QPR short-lived Adidas
Palace late 70s
Liverpool with the round white neck mid-70s
Lots of late 70s Admiral: Spurs, especially (though it was more about the Admiral piping)

The more serious problem will be the points deductions/fines/away fan bans when refs or opposition players get showered. As if that won't happen.

The smaller the crowds, the less likely alcohol drunk during the game is to cause problems. But never mind celebratory flying beers, think how often we see something chucked on the pitch during games all over the place. Imagine what willl happen anywhere the first time a ref gives a shocker in front of an end full of people with plastic cups full of liquid.

For anyone living in NW London, this is a piece of piss game to get to – get the overground round to Hackney Wick. It's a nice walk down the canal and it isn't swamped after, like Stratford.

Couldn't tell from the West Paddock, but seeing it on TV, it looked a red all day long, regardless of what happened with the ball. He cleaned out the fella's legs and his studs were high. If someone had done that to one of our players, we'd have all thought it was a red, without exception, I suspect.

Matchday programme c94. Jan Stejskal was quizzed.

Who speaks the better English – you or Ludo Miklosko?

"I don't know. When we speak to each other we speak in Czech."

Fans Forum questions

Is it true that Rayan Kolli has not been playing because has been fixing the pressure in the Ellerslie Road toilets?

If we reach the play-offs, would it be worth using Remy instead of Smyth, if he's available?

If we move to a new stadium, can we make sure it's one we can dig down in?

There were no percentages in Sinclair's Greatest Goal Ever Scored. It was just one where he tried it and it came off. Still The Greatest Goal Ever Scored. And he milked it.

I can't see us getting anywhere near the automatic spots. But eighth place? That's imaginable, and next season that's the play-offs. I'm not sure I'd call it a serious challenge, though, unless two-thirds of the division are mounting a serious challenge, because I guess that many will think they can reach eighth.

They won't pave over the parks as soon as the monarchy is abolished. Windsor will still have a castle. The French haven't had a monarchy for 237 years, but people still flock to Versailles.

Why would anyone pay for a crappy old plastic bucket seat that is associated almost entirely with Rangers being awful? I really don't understand!

I work on the assumption that all boards of all football clubs care about the fans only to the extent that they can keep them a) not mutinous and b) spending money. I don't see anything different here.
