I think at this time of year it's important to remember you're asking young lads to do four games in a week over Christmas. Two at home, two away, down to Portsmouth, up to Birmingham, back round again. Recovery, rinse, repeat. It's nuts, what we ask of the players in this period. Absolutely nobody needs that West Brom game on the 29th, and even fewer than that need a 1230 kick off against Norwich on New Year's Day. Massive overspill, overkill of mediocre football from tired, tired players.
