This is one of the bones of contention between them and Cifuentes going back to last summer. They wanted to make this hire, he didn't - presumably because he felt he/Calm did that.

New Prediction League Champion - congrats QPR_Hibs
at 15:58 6 May 2025

Absolutely stormed it, won by ten clear points from Woog and KensalRiseR.

Big thanks to Nico and Weston for their input to this season's match previews as well.

Congrats mate, I'll DM you and sort delivery of your prize...

Rangers read the room, finish on a high at Sunderland - Report
at 15:38 6 May 2025

Thank you for all the kind words guys it's very much appreciated.

Incredibly difficult season, particularly towards the back end, and a lot of weird sht going on which can be pretty demoralising.

Always gets to this point and I'm exhausted, it's effectively holding down two full time jobs for nine months. But I can chill for a bit now and look forward to another summer of travelling and relaxing. Got some great trips planned already.

There'll be end of term reports, four write ups and a Patreon podcast discussing the ratings as always. We'll revisit the season preview predictions once the play-off final is done. And there will be an end of season journos review on the Patreon next week with Ted and Thom as that went down very well last season. We'll cover the signings as well (it's QPR, of course there will be signings) but I am intending to wind down and switch off for a couple of months as well.

Thank you all for the support, particularly those of you who subscribe to the Patreon - that's what keeps it all going.

Have a great summer everybody.

Cardiff away in that away end as Celar chipped the keeper felt like a big moment for the home and awayers. Just when it all felt so lost and bleak.

And, yeh, Frey banging that goal in at Luton about 5 feet away from my face was quite nice.

"Yeh, I admit, it was written by AI" should probably be the end of this sham I reckon.

Not right. Not right at all.

I'm just using your figures "Charlie". You said £800k for Varane.

The other figures I've used are there in the accounts. And I've included the explanation the club gave.

The last set of accounts listed "post balance sheet events" as a net spend of £6m+ this summer just gone.

With £3m coming in for Dykes and Armstrong, that means this lot cost us £9m.

The club were very quick to get in touch before we did our write up of the accounts and say the outgoings were listed as a worst case scenario (all the signings meet all their clauses and we owe the maximum amount) while all the incomings were done assuming they never meet any of their clauses ever. A like-for-like comparison was more like £2.7m, apparently.

Still, if Charlie, who knows absolutely nothing and is just a fan who hangs around the club which was founded as Christchurch Rangers in 1882 and took up their current name after merging with St Judes Institute four years later, says Varane only counts for £800k of that.
Then Celar and Madsen cost....

TBH I'm surprised they still tell you who they're retaining and releasing.
