Its all tainted. We look back at Chelsea in 2003 with contempt because of Abromaviches money. Blackburn winning the title was because of the money. We never talk about the football. I dont think taking the titles away changes much. There will always be a " yeh but". Maybe im wrong. I just feel theres a bit of scape goating going. Lets start digging out all the other clubs then, and all the dodgy deals that must go on. Have City broke the law or just the premier league rules, which is built on greed and corruption at the highest level anyway?
Don't know about anyone else, but im getting pretty tired of all these pundits, ex footballers etc , saying City should be stripped of the titles. As has been highlighted on here, plenty football clubs have tried bending the rules, finding loop holes etc. How many clubs sold players to City, inflating their prices.? Taking their money. How is it right that the Prem will let Man U owners , lumber the club with debt, letting the stadium rot , making loads of people redundant in cost cutting exercises, when City have done the exact opposite. How much dirty money did Chelsea bring into football? What about the corruption at FIFA? Most of football is suspect. The greed of players and their agents and SKY relentless fascination of who has the most money to spend in the transfer window, has caused a money orientated sport. Theres loads of guilty parties, if were talking about the principles of over spending. Im not saying, Man city are innocent, far from it. I think they should be punished with a huge points deduction and a heavy fine, with that money going to grass roots football or something. But to write off the last 15 years is ridiculous. I think keep the titles. Everyone will remember how City won those, draw a line under it and get football back on track. Do something productive with this whole episode, like scrapping FFP , putting wage caps back in , have a system thats not giving the richest clubs the advantage. Football needs to get a grip on the spiralling cost of players. Lumping this all on City, is an easy option. I think the premier league needs to take a look at itself. Its created this monster. Lets not forget ,all the agents lurking in the background, getting a bit nervous of talk of wage caps etc. All these pundits will have their agents in their ear.
If we took 9k last season, albeit a cup game and they were in the prem. Why have we only been allocated 3k? Surely its not going to be an issue getting tickets, despite it being 2nd v 6th in the championship. Have they closed the top tier?
It always surprises me that professional sportsmen think anything less then first place is acceptable. I guess you have to be realistic of course, but surely a natural competitive drive to win is enough to spur you on for top spot. It is achievable.
Anyway, I'm digressing.
Just my thoughts on Kolli. Is he just a product of some pretty poor standards and management over the years at QPR. Hasnt he been here since 9 or something? I'm not trying to excuse him, if he's not putting a shift in at training, but as he's been here so long, has complacency crept in?. Maybe he should go to another club? Just a thought.
A win would be nice, of course. After a strong start to the season, we seem to have plateaued already, in terms of player availability, just 6 games in, causing a bit of a slump in online confidence with this team, management etc. As we all know, to do well in this league, you need to hit the ground running and then keep that momentum. None of these blips where we lose a bunch of games or dont score 3 games in a row or whatever. Thats for losers. Im calling this the first official 'must win' game of the season.!
