Do we know how good Kolli is yet? Or, more importantly, how good he might become? Self belief is vital in a top class footballer. We've seen lately what happens when it's diminished: with Dembéle especially, with Madsen in his first season, with Saito on his return from Japan. Give the kid his head and see what happens. Right now we've nothing to lose. |

Well someone named Rodney wasn't behind the door in the ego department. (In fact, IIRC, 'EGO' was part of his car's number plate.)
Self confidence, or ego if you like, is not necessarily a bad thing in a professional footballer, especially a striker. What counts is whether you have the talent that justifies it on the pitch. So far Kolli's performances indicate he does, if only for relatively short periods.
I definitely don't know what's going on behind the scenes. But I reckon if we let him go without having a decent run in the team we might look very foolish down the road. [Post edited 3 Oct 21:05]

He's desperate, frustrated, and he shows in his play. Hurried shots, pointless runs into dead ends. Too often he's inside his head instead of his body. Typical was a fairly recent free kick on the edge of the oppo's box (forgotten who it was.) Madsen was set to take it when Dembele charged past him and blasted it ten feet over the bar. He's playing on his nerves. You just can't do that at this level. |

If the league required a published salary cap for each club it would, largely, prevent this kind of travesty. It's one of the few things North American major league sports (with exception of baseball) have got right. All salaries, and other contract details are made public.
Of course, moving players in and out of farm teams helps balance a squad's finances, and there are other 'work-arounds' but they're comparatively trivial. To my knowledge nothing the scale of this debacle has happened here since the "Black Sox" scandal in1919 |

Beside our Rs I'm not a big fan of any other team in any sport. But I kinda keep a watching brief on our BC Lions (Canadian Football League) and the Seattle Seahawks (NFL). Normally I just watch same-day recordings so I can zip through the ads — of which there are an inordinate number. |

Dulwich Hamlet. They've messed around with the pattern over the years but the pink and blue is unique AFAIK. My preference is for halves. Corinthian Casuals used to wear chocolate and pink socks, which were pretty choice, but the boring white shirts and and black rather spoiled the effect.
My favourite EFL kit has always been Newcastle's late 50s–early 60s effort. The white socks with black and white striped tops were seriously boss. Together with white cuffs on the shorts they really did the business. |

He was really buzzing in that interview. His English has improved since his hiring, consequently he's become much more articulate and emphatic in his speech. Great guy, very good manager too. |

I actually thought Scarlett was one of our better players in the first half (a very low bar I realise.) He showed for the ball when he got the chance, and generally did something worthwhile with it. Given the shitshow the match turned into subbing him made total sense though. |

Quite. If we'd have won that game 1- 0 would I be happy? I s'pose so. But not as happy as I am watching our ten men come back in the second half from 0-2 down.
I get that it's about winning in the end. But it's also about how you win, and when you win. We're eight games into a 46 match season. I'll take a game like that in September, when I wouldn't in April, because I think it can lead to better performances down the line. I'd also credit our head coach, big time, for our second half showing. Applaudissements monsieur! |

Sure, and if it was March or April I'd agree. But this is the kind of performance that can bring a team together, even if it's only a home draw against a poor side. |
