The house always wins but this week it really has taken the piss. A good week if you like picking fun names. Especially if your name happens to be Johnny.

The leaders we do have aren’t doing a lot of leading. Still traumatised by those three minutes against Wrexham with Cook, Dunne, Field and Hayden on the pitch.

I would’ve said amongst the ‘hardcore’ which I don’t count myself amongst any more but speak to people who very much are, he’s quite popular. Don’t hear him getting nearly as much flak as certain players away from home even when the team in general is dire.

Fancy us to nick a 1-0 against Doncaster in October. Obikwu on debut.

Given he’s now regressed to the point he can’t trap the ball or pass ten yards under no pressure I’m not sure he’s suited to any sort of team. Embarrassing of Stephan to keep picking him. There’s no good option but he’s the worst option.

Looked good for a while, pipped for a place at the end. Oh well we go again with the £2.50 e/w lucky 15 tomorrow to win £50k

Stuck it in a freebie acca which had already lost.

My horse racing knowledge is close to zero but I’ve been told I’ll Sort That in the 1:20 is worth an each-way bet though the price has come in a fair bit since yesterday so that’s in today’s freebie acca.

So what are we going to do about it?
at 23:36 9 Mar 2026

I’m sad but, as one of the probably few too young to remember the Prem 90s glory days let alone 75/76, not a lot sadder than through much of my QPR existence. My mate’s kid is 15/16, loves it and he’s only ever known the club being a mess off the pitch to some extent and being 16th in the second division on it. Feel sorry for the yoof. Not even a glorious third division second place and Hammersmith celebrations or an Andy Impey dancing on the pitch at Watford.

I’ll renew partly because I really like the spot I have and would struggle to get one near it again and partly through blind hope it’ll improve. All for not spending on the club beyond that but I don’t much anyway. Probably have loads of ‘QPR Cash’ somewhere.

It’s grim. It’ll probably get grimmer this week, next week and next season. But it’ll be better one day or at least it’ll get worse then improve to the point we’re at now so it’ll feel better.

Saying that I’m fascinated to see what sort of prices they concoct for renewals.

Can you imagine us getting to the fifth round of the cup (lol), it going to penalties and losing it because some knob tried a Panenka?* I would say I’d be on the pitch ready to do 20 years for murder but I think a thousand or so of you would be quicker than me to get there. My head would be on Mars right now if I were a Brentford fan. Should be fined two weeks’ wages and have his head kicked in by the massive centre-halves. I’m almost angry for them.

*my money would be on Dembele.

Give Kolli the first hour on Wednesday. Not that he’s been any good recently but he’s fresh and presumably fit. Feels a ticking time bomb à la Burrell.

I like Cook. I also think, dreadful as it’s been recently, giving Dunne and Edwards a run together as the likely pair next season isn’t the worst thing on the face of it. Despite Dunne’s error today and Edwards at Hull, they aren’t the problem IMO on the pitch.

Doubt it’s a contract thing as he got his extra year due to the previous contract’s clause. He’s on 28 appearances (including the cup) so it’s possible but that would be unusual.

I’d have him in and have Edwards in the place of either of the wastes of space in front of the defence.

Bloodbath at Birmingham
at 22:08 8 Mar 2026

Not expecting anything of course and it could easily be another shellacking but they aren’t the worst team to be playing right now. Lost three in a row, fans not happy with the manager, season basically over unless they do some thing silly like eight wins in ten. A forgettable 0-0 to keep both teams just about away from their respective baying mobs isn’t out of the question. We’ll still lose obviously.

Possibly the last player of all I’d be digging out. Works hard for lost causes with no service while carrying an injury various others in the squad would be out for months with in his first season at this level. He’s one of the few positives of the season, imperfect as he is.

Boro are a very good side by our league’s standards but I don’t think today is any indication of whether they’ll go up at all or how they would get on in the best league in the world (TM). We’d have made Oxford look similarly good today.

There’s nothing here. We aren’t quick or strong or good on the ball or defensively solid or direct or shithousey. We’re just out there hoping. This was always going to be a very tough game. Smash someone, make it ugly, be direct. We’ve played like a bad academy team.

Another game with a midweek to come where he forgets he can make a sub so we’ll be knackered for that too.

Only been as a neutral of course and in the posh seats rather than ‘The Wall’ but it is amazing good one to see for the first time in the way it is with a big foreign ground. Surreal really walking up as you’re still in Tottenham. The mad rush for the 20% general sale with some people able to get and others crashing on the ticket page will be Wrexham x1000.
