Gaffer on tonight's defeat

Well, that puff piece on Varane last week in the Guardian when his and our form has cratered pretty much says what their comms strategy is.

Didn't Richard 'Jonah' Reilly buy in to the club just before the Warburton play-off charge collapsed?

I do think we'll survive if only because we have 'winnable' home games but I do think the Millwall away game is going to be massive. If we get tanked there, I do feel a lot of the happy clappers, the neutral and even the Nourry fan boys on Twitter will have to wake up.

And I know they control the narrative as much as possible by not telling us anything about what's going on, dropping meaningless statistics about how we are actually x% fitter this season, etc. but even dopes like our board must realise they are being duped.

That's Hoos just over a year ago when we were *checks* 15 points above the drop zone saying how great things were going:

Hoos, 57, credited "multiple factors" for the upturn in results, including a great effort from the performance department, recruitment team and medical staff

I just don't think they can get away with this forever. We are worse than we were despite having spent the Eze money. Even Hoos must be running out of track.

Retexo was credited as being instrumental in the club's recruitment of director of performance Ben Williams and head coach Marti Cifuentes.

Didn't it turn out we were after Marti anyway?

The club's owners Ruben Gnanalingam, Amit Bhatia and Richard Reilly were unanimous in their decision to bring Nourry on board.

Gnanalingam said: "He has a proven track record of achieving success for football clubs he has worked with around the world and his expertise has already enabled us to identify and recruit two outstanding professionals."

Ah yes, that proven track record. At age 26.

We really are f***ed, aren't we?

Mad it's nearly three years ago and he's still here (and mentoring his protege). That must have been when the anti-Les and Hoos stuff was at its peak.

Hoos strikes me as a bit of a Machiavelli. You'd have put money on him going at the same time as Les but he found a way to survive and adapt. I'd love to know what they've got up their sleeves at the moment.

Same Time Next Year

I don't think we will go down as we'll get a win at some point but in some ways maybe that's what we need? Controversial opinion but maybe it would force the owners to actually take some hands-on responsibility for running the club?

But yes, it'll be more of the same and see you again this time next year...

He resigned on 1 March 2021, after four straight defeats and seven games without a win.

In January 2023, with Strasbourg sitting in nineteenth place with one win from seventeen games, Stéphan was dismissed.

I don't get how he can talk about these things like he's a disengaged observer. He's the manager! He's been in charge all season! If the players perform like that in the first half, it's his team! He sounds baffled by the way they played.

Stephan deserves to go for that first-half performance alone. Birmingham aren't great yet we handed them the match with that supine display. Paul Hart would think it negative.

It's fitting he'll go on Saturday though as our best performance under him was that first-half against Leicester.

It's so sad that an arrogant prick like Nourry could undermine a manager who had us thrashing Leeds 4-0, only to install his stooge. Nourry and Hoos need to go if this club is going to get anywhere. We need competent people, not chancers.

This commentator really can't tell our black players apart. Needs some diversity training.

Who knew you could actually attack? Not our manager in the first half.

I never liked Stephan from that Plymouth game. It showed that he was just Nourry's stooge.

Marti would have so much better with this squad, injuries or no injuries. Nourry needs to go.

A manager with any sense takes Mbengue off at half-time so he doesn't get the inevitable booking. Any prizes for what we reckon the French Paul Hart will do?

This Season Almost A Replica of The McLaren Season

Arguably the biggest black mark against this squad is the fact that their best performance of the season by a country mile came in that first half against Leicester.

I dunno, maybe we could do what we used to do and transport Hoos, Nourry and Cycling Ben to Oz to run it.
