Do they still have to inspect their testicles before selecting a new manager? |

Yeah, mad that they have improved since Mbappe left and he might end up missing out on the big trophies this season. |

Crap season, only brightened by schadenfreude at Luton and Cardiff. Yes, it could have been worse but we've finished just above the three promoted clubs, so zero progress. We end the season once again without a manager and with William Pitt the Younger in charge of literally everything. On the positive side, some decent signings like Varane and Nardi but the balance of the squad showed our naivety. Similarly, for a side who has struggled for goals for a decade, pretty batshit crazy to sell two strikers and replace them with one, particularly with the likes of Frey unable to play more than a half at a time. Not overly fussed by Marti leaving though. Loved him in his first season but the way he touted himself around last summer leaves a sour taste. Clearly thinks he is something special but maybe he should prove that before he looks to climb the ladder again. If I were a Championship club looking for a new manager, he looks like an inferior Rohl, who genuinely has had the most insane chairman to work with. We'll always have Leeds at home. The anti-linesman chant would be a good one. Just replace 'Lino' with 'Nourry' and it scans. |

Great piece, Clive, but I do think our supporters are partly to blame. We need more of an ultra mentality - don't clap us off when we lose 5-0 at home; go to Heston and tell the players how crap they are. Steal Nourry's steering wheel. Chuck tomatoes at the coach (or airplane if we lose a 4-0 lead in Europe). Probably too late for the older generation but let's hope the younger fans you mention show more substance and the CP Company/Stone Island garb isn't the only thing they have in common with the ultras. |

Looking at it with hindsight, were any of those players a new Eze though? Chair at his peak maybe a squad player for a lower table Premier League club. Dickie not quick enough for the top level. Dieng, decent enough but no Lev Yashin. And Willock, erm... Now Ronnie Edwards, how much could we get for him....? |

He did a fantastic job last season but to start touting himself around in the summer isn't a good look for me. Modern managers seem in such a hurry to get a better opportunity. That's a lot to do with their limited shelf life but sometimes you need to walk before you can run. |

It is revealing that only a few years ago he was more concerned about Gen Z's social media perception than the reserve left back at Port Vale. |

Burnley clearly have better players than us but they've had plenty of poor performances this season. It would be unfair on non-league sides to say it was like a non-league side against a Champions League team because they'd have at least put up some fight. Plus the last home game of the season, you want to make a statement and send everyone home with a skip in their step, however crap the season has been. When was the last time we got turned over like that in the last home game? Jack Supple must know. |

I'd have to disagree. You're 4-0 down in the final home game of the season and you've pretty much contributed zilch all season, never mind this match. Be pissed off at your performance and at the team's. Sorry if a few kids don't get an autograph from a League Two footballer; never mind, Taylor Richards will be back soon. I just think it reflects the attitude of most of our players - who cares as they'll be another club along soon enough to keep their tattooist in ink. |

While it's admirable how they swarm around Dembele like bees round honey, I think it's very telling how the contrary is also true. Where on earth are our players busting a gut to support him? On Saturday you had one team giving 100% and another at about 25% if we're being generous. |

Running it properly means actually having a vision and ideally not delegating everything to 27-year-old bullshitters. |

I'm glad you put fun in quote marks. Jesus, imagine being Ruben sitting there on Saturday - surely it's humiliating for him? What I don't understand is why people persistently say no one is interested in buying us - clearly they would if the price were lower. |
 | Forum Reply | Sky Sports Breaking News at 10:29 28 Apr 2025
If Ruben is doing so well, why can't he lower the valuation? For the love of God, why do they persist in owning the club if they patently have no interest in running it properly? |
