My post was not intended to be personal but it was you that mentioned Key in your post about Santos. I was simply making the point that we should not be dismissive about a player who currently seems to be having problems. Whether they go deeper than performances on the football pitch, I have no idea. As I have no idea where your reference to 'hate' comes from. My comments are drawn from the lifelong experience of an 'old fart'. |

I assume you were well paid and believe it privilege to wear the uniform and did you not ever work with someone or supervise someone who was not 'on their game' then perhaps found out that there was a good reason for that? Key was, I believe, recruited for his ability and potential. At the present he seems devoid of confidence and form. He needs help and I hope the new coaching staff give him that help and get to the bottom of it all. We can be very dismissive sometimes and fail to appreciate that football players are human beings, just like the rest of us, with all the baggage that goes with being human and, in his case, being a young man as well. |

Pity he didn't but then again he would probably be arrested for murder. |

It seems that in the Legal profession AI is being used by the lazy and incompetent. Which one was the Judge in the Scottish case? |

I totally agree with your comment regarding 'behind the scenes facts' for why someone is not playing well or not putting in the required effort. I recall watching Ray kennedy playing for the Swans back in 1982 and being critical of his apparent lack of effort. Only to subsequently learn that he was in the early stages of Parkinson's Disease. Big lesson learnt there. I also don't understand the use of the word 'hate' in relation to a player or manager, particularly when someone is not known personally to the user. Those who plead for tolerance should themselves exercise tolerance. |

Yes. 141 International appearances and countless club matches and never shown a red card. Apparently he has published something on his social media account which seems to be an acceptance of guilt whilst apologising for his actions. Respect for that. |

Yes, he is quality but he could be so much better if, as he plays on the left, he developed a left foot and toughened up a touch. I agree that he had one of his better games yesterday. |

Some of the problem with Scotland for us old farts is the Joe Jordan 'goal' in the 1978 Qualifying match. |

The Head of the OBR has resigned due to an error by a Junior colleague. He has honourably accepted ultimate responsibility for causing the Government embarrassment. Will Lammy resign, thus accepting ultimate responsibility? To answer my own question, probably not. He is a politician and normal rules of behaviour don't apply. |

It's only that I am of that generation. It doesn't take away from his magnificent record and affinity to West Ham. Would such a record be equalled or beaten today? Somehow I doubt it but thereagain I stand to be corrected. |
