Our form has fallen apart since he was dropped. Play him, he's different class for us.

We may have got something out the Utd game if bloody Isaac Price had scored late in that game to make it 2-1. Bloody West Brom players. Worse than our own!

So what are we going to do about it?
at 19:25 9 Mar 2026

What we try and do about it is get behind the players out there who are able to play. They are low on confidence and need support. Our gaffer also needs our backing. We need to support the team to get over the line this season. At the end we can challenge the powers that be but until then, back the team so they get out of this cycle.

I think there is a good player in there but it has become very evident that he's far too lightweight at the moment at this level. He's 2 inches taller than the 5 foot 5 Ilias Chair but Chair is very well built and has a low centre of gravity. I think Koki is a good technical player but he clearly needs to bulk up to ever really make it at this level. Plus I feel he is much better in the middle than out wide. Again, he can only do that if he has the strength and body mass to cope with it all.

I am far from writing him off but feel he needs to get physically a lot bigger muscle and strength wise to be a player of note next season. He could do with learning some martial arts as that would also help him with balance and deflection of impact on the field.

This Season Almost A Replica of The McLaren Season

It does feel like we are trapped in a self constructed Groundhog day scenario every season.

This Season Almost A Replica of The McLaren Season
at 12:59 9 Mar 2026

Yes there is a bit of a mirror to this season. It's funny because we did have a good base with Warburton & Eustace. The problem was that Warburton is super smart and after a while it becomes clear at most clubs he's at that he knows more about the business side than they do. It happened at Brentford and it seemed to happen here to some degree.

I remember the fanbase getting fed up that he always said the same when we lost and mostly if we drew or won. But he had a style of play and an attitude that most of the kids weren't good enough and that there needed to be more foundations around how those players came through. Essentially he was less interested in development and more interested in points on the board and position.

I guess the lessons learnt are be careful what you wish for and if you do have someone who knows more than you do about running a football club let them have their say and act on it.

Perhaps the shrewd move would be to try and get Mark back as Director Of Football and let him run and oversee things? He understands the accountancy and the theory of an actual style of play. It won't happen but it probably should.

Yes I get your point Hunter and it's well made. There is of course exactly what you are saying as well to factor in.

I just thought perhaps a low cost fix would be to have Stephan armed with an app that translates everything he says into the voice of Neil Warnock? I think it's called the 'Muck and Nettles' app?

I think in theory Nourry has got a lot of things right but theory is different to reality, especially here.

Poku is potentially a huge talent but he came here, probably on the fee we paid, having had several significant hamstring injuries, which has continued here.
Dembele is a big talent but again had injury issues, which have continued here.
Saito I always thought was brought in as a central running midfielder to replace Chair eventually. He's been out of form and played anywhere to fill a gap so far. (by the way it's fine to be angry for him for laughing and smiling on the bench when someone is talking to him, even if we are losing. Do we expect him to be throwing himself on a Samurai sword?) He's not laughing at us.
Madsen has been the stand out player this season, so a very good buy in the end, but he's now probably out for most of the rest of the season.
Kone will be a good buy. He's only 22 and as yet we haven't found a proper way to service him as a 9.
Burrell... well, a fantastic buy all told and would we be in this mess if he hadn't got injured? Probably not.
Edwards is still only 22 for a few weeks and we know he will be good for us.
Mbengue has been pretty good generally and he's only just 24.
Hayden was brought in to add experience and was great last season but has struggled a bit this term. But essentially a player who should add to the team.
RND bar a few games has been pretty solid as a loan.

So you look at this lot and you think it's not a bad few windows or so. But half of them have been blighted by injuries and in a couple of cases, we bought them knowing there was a big injury risk to them.

So I think some of Nourry's business hasn't been bad and has been ambitious but what he hasn't done, that of course Warnock was all over, is bring in enough Generals who know this division and could steer us through things and keep the younger players (Adel etc) in line.

Is the answer an infinite groundhog amount of times given the current circumstances?

I completely agree we would be Sheffield Wednesday without the owners (although we do seem to have come out in sympathy in how we are playing)
I feel Stephan is losing the will to live and has been thrown under the bus perhaps with instructions from above and the injuries?
How this many injuries to star players is possible almost at the same time?
Why the manager is being told some of these are close to playing and being made to look like an idiot in the process?
How can a side that draws 0-0 a few weeks ago now ship 4+ goals a game and what does Steve Bould actually do?
How the f*ck do we string some points together at the moment?

He's probably been a knock away from a major injury or ACL for about 3 weeks now and we keep putting him in. It's ludicrous. He's 22.

The service to him is either launched from 60 yards away or no existent.

Right now we would be better with Cook and Dunne at CB with Edwards in front of them.

The lad has been playing on the edge of his knee falling apart for weeks now. Not sure what people want of him? He has no support and no service.

Something is fundamental wrong with Rangers!
at 14:16 2 Mar 2026

The mentality around the club is the thing. Perhaps it comes after years of just about avoiding relegation? Perhaps it comes from a lack of ambition based on the fact that compared to at least 10 other sides in this league, we can't actually compete financially to build a team to compete at the top level.

It also comes from seasons of injuries to players at key times and a lack of depth financially to cover the gaps.

I'll say it again, we brought in Steve Bould to coach the defence and it clearly hasn't worked, bar a few 0-0 away results. Overall, the defence, which has some decent players, has leaked horribly this year. That has to be addressed. We have to be much better next season or we'll just wallow in lower mid table forever.

On "All I do know is that next season will likely be the same as this . Start poorly, go out in the cup to lower league , go on a decent run and then go to pot , rinse and repeat zzzzz" this is good to know and at least I won't be disappointed.

Torquay manager looks decent
at 13:25 2 Mar 2026

Good luck to him. A manager quietly doing a consistently brilliant job is Dave Challinor, currently at Stockport County. 53% win rate across all his jobs and amazingly consistent. His teams always finish in the top five, admittedly at lower levels. But quite some career so far.
