This team would have pushed the accelerator down against the Argentinians. Shame it's taken until now to click and although Croatia were woeful tonight I think 'that kind of England team' could take out almost anyone. Was at times like watching prime Barcelona. The most impressive thing was the swarming hunting down when off the ball. Took as an average of 5 seconds to win the ball back when out of possession. Mighty impressive even with Croatia not being at it at all.
It would be lovely to see our Rs hunt the ball down like that. It is coming a bit.
Yes I think they brought on 3 fans and a lady with her unborn child before him but I have to say that Northern Ireland were superb against a fairly subdued Ukraine. Charles in goal faultless. 3-0 NI and well deserved.
At least Smyth won't come back injured unless he's got a splinter in his arse from the bench.
3-0 to NI now. Goalkeeping disaster for the Ukraine keeper. Charles so far having a stormer and just launched a 70 yard pass that almost got them through for 4. I really think we should buy Charles' contract off Man City as they'll be playing in a pub league next season (perhaps).
With a lot of young talented players their biggest problems are confidence, belief and picking up a succession of injuries.
If you look at clips of him as a kid he's got everything, speed, trickery, footwork and a football brain. Certainly a player that would never be destined to play here.
We've seen flashes of it but it's been regularly interrupted with fairly dreadful injuries. So my feeling is that if we can get the kid fit and injury free, and gaining a bit of confidence, even if he ever only shows half of his childhood potential that he'll be an asset to us.
But it does depend on his belief in himself and his body not to keep breaking down. We're seeing a little bit of that with Kone and his knee.
To potentially lose Burrell and Kone for West ham and beyond is typical QPR luck isn't it.

Yes I don't like Michael O’Neill at all. He's a complete tool who rides his luck so much of the time. Perfect game for an experienced player like Smyth to go against a tiring defence but he probably would have sent on the mascot before Smyth.
I think a lot of teams will feel they have a case against City now including us with their manager at the time they won against us on an undeclared double salary or something like that. Personally I think they should give us Pierce Charles as compensation and we'll say no more!
Just watched the NI game and Charles' passing was sublime throughout, including a 60+ yard cross field pass to his brother near the end. Wonderful keeper too.
He's on loan at Colchester from Southampton. 19 years old and I'm sure Southampton are looking to bring him through but we really should be keeping tabs on him. Poku type ability but actually reminds me a lot of Saka when he broke through. 2 excellent goals here and fantastic pace.
Yes the last two games he's been taken off we've lost. We completely gave up the pace on the turnover without him and left everything to Bellingham, who is by far our best player but he's a one man army without Gordon there.
Very excited to see how Phil develops as a player. Physically he could be another Adama Traoré but I feel he has much better game awareness already. Hopefully a really explosive force to us in the next year or so. Very grounded too.
