Totally agree. The output of comms this season is really professional - youtube, twitter, email newsletter drops - all regular and consistent and high quality.

And KG comes across so well. Future dale manager in 15 years time.

I was referring to the 0-4 defeat to York at Spotland last season.

EEL was definteitly at fault for both Stone's goals at the LNER this season, and admitted to as much in his post match interview.

Last season in our 0-4 defeat to York, it was noticeable how their midfield duo of Hunt and Felix were a cut above Gilmour and East. That evening it was York that bossed the midfield.

This season East and particularly Gilmour seem to have tightened up technically - neither hardly ever gives the ball away, first touch is always on point, passing is always crisp and accurate. Both are incredibly consistent in this regard.

Compare Duku's goal with Mani D's against Gateshead back in August

Gordon > Rodney > first time finish by Mani/Manny D

Almost carbon copy.

Our right-side trio of TAR, Gordon and Rodney are a real force when things click. 17 assists between the 3 of them so far this season.

Dale Closing In On Bilongo?
at 16:31 15 Jan 2026

Im think Bilongo is more a left wing back, albeit a very tall one. Report are he's full of pace. Expect him to fulfill the role Okeke / Buyabu did last season, vying with Taryn for that spot.

Whilst Prichard can play there too, he didn't fare well against Hartlepool there and I think is more effective elsewhere on the pitch. Tutonda perhaps seen as more backup for the Beckwith/Waller role. With Waller going back soon, I think the lad from Cov will slot into that role. Hopefully he and Bilongo can strike up a relationship on the same wavelength as TAR and Gordon have on the right. We've never quite reached that same level of understanding down our left side.

Love Tobi. He's perfect for that position and has made that spot his own. His assists are invaluable, his linkup with Gordon in particular can be incredibly difficult for the opposition left back to handle. He is EFL standard in my opinion. This is more great news.

Case study here on how OBI replaced Bromley's pitch in time for them starting in league 2.

i watched it too - entertaining game but neither team looked incredible. I still think York are the team who'll be the ones to beat come the end of the season.

Carlisle splashing cash

Been rumoured for weeks - I'm glad it didn't go through before our game with them. He's a bit of a show pony but if they can get him and Linney firing together, they'll be a force.

If you'd ask me which player from him, Odoh or Hayes would have the most success at posh, it wouldn't have been Odoh. Success being a relative term given how poorly they are doing again this season.

Derek Adams sacked https://www.morecambefc.com/ne

New owners must have their own man they want in charge.

He's got about 4 days to assemble a full squad in time for the game against Alty on Saturday. I could imagine Derek Adams managing to assemble such a squad with his connections. No idea who they've got in mind to be manager now, but that's a heck of an ask. Perhaps the circus isnt over, it's just about to begin.

TVOS Preview - Rochdale v Altrincham

I remember Dean Windass would do this - shout at the keeper as he closed them down. We've needed a striker who is an absolute horror to play against for a long time. One that knows all the tricks and dark arts. And where the goal is. Mani D is all of that and I love it.

Barrow Game
at 12:43 27 Jul 2025

I went to the game. Barrow are a very well drilled, established league 2 side and we went toe-to-tie with them and at no point looked inferior. Barlow should've scored after rounding the keeper in the first half but hit the side netting. Lots of possession particularly in the first half and mostly moving the ball forwards. Second half as is often the case after a host of subs, things became disjointed. I thought Humbles looked very good when he came on.

maybe for the keeper spot? Left Barrow this summer after years of loyal service. Would join up with Lillis and now Jason Taylor who were both at Barrow previously.

35 isnt too old for a keeper. He's solid.

My thoughts too. There's no doubt that Haughton will improve any team at this level, but I'd be looking to strengthen 3 or 4 other areas first.

25/26 Squad
at 12:38 28 Apr 2025

I have a feeling Linney will make the move to an upper League 2 next season - or maybe even League One, he reminds me of a Peterborough-type signing. That said, Posh signed Chris Conn Clarke last summer from Alty and he's not kicked on.

Nick Haughton is bound to be a popular target - 3rd top scorer and 3rd top assister for a relegated side, and he's consistently up there every season. Not sure where he would fit in with our system and team though. Its the big man up front we need to prioritise, although any team with Haughton in it will benefit at this level.

Another one gone
at 16:18 3 Feb 2025

Exactly. They don't seem to learn as they sacked Simmo shortly after a trasnfer deadline day when he'd recruited a load of new players.

Williamson had made 11 or 12 new signings In Jan, many of which are players he'd managed before from Gateshead days, or other similar close connections. Now he's gone, its a very odd situation for a new manager to come in to.
