Sulemana To Stay At Southampton ! Amo-Ameyaw To Go Out On Loan
at 14:16:41

I've seen Amo-Ameyaw play a few times and he's always looked good. He combines especially well with Tyler Dibling. He really deserves to start a few league games for us before the end of the season or he'll end up following the same route out of here as Nathen Tella so that another club benefits from his talent. Hopefully, Juric will give him a chance here.

Sulemana To Stay At Southampton ! Amo-Ameyaw To Go Out On Loan
at 09:56:55

Amo-Ameyaw could be the next Nathan Tella. We could loan him out to a Championship club, where he will undoubtedly do well, then sell him to a top European club, where he will win trophies. Another successful Southampton product. Job done.

Southampton FC Chairman Stepping Down

This sounds like good news. Hopefully, it will be a change for the better. I've certainly not given up hope on the owners or the new manager. The win against Swansea was the first indication that Juric is starting to make an impact with his team selection and tactics.

Southampton V Swansea City The Verdict
at 14:24:12

I think we'd have struggled to win this game if we'd started with Archer and Armstrong up front and Smallbone in midfield, because after they came on, Swansea hit the post and looked the more likely team to score.

Southampton V Swansea City The Verdict

"It was also good to see the return of Will Smallbone who looked back to fitness."

If that's him back to fitness, God knows how slow he'd be if he was unfit. He jogged around in slow motion, not even bothering to try and tackle or compete for 50/50 balls.

In fact, Saints were excellent UNTIL Smallbone, Archer and Armstrong came on as subs. Then we looked as toothless up front as we have all season. If Dibling and Sulemana had stayed on, we'd probably have won at least 5-0. I hope they were taken off so they will be ready to start again at Old Trafford, as they were the best attacking pair we've had so far this season.

Well Done Juric for the team selection and tactics. It makes me feel a lot more optimistic about the rest of the season.

Southampton V Liverpool The Carabao Cup Verdict
at 10:32:21

The Northam End is what we always needed at St Mary's: a proper home end, and it gets better with every game.

McCarthy is what we never needed at St Mary's: a terrible goalkeeper. Will we ever get rid of him?

Southampton V Tottenham Hotspur The Verdict
at 09:51:57

I've heard that Martin was sacked during the game so that at half-time the players already knew about it, which may explain the greater effort they made in the second half, albeit against a Spurs team that was just cruising.

Our Northam end deserves a mention for their brilliant support in the second half. At least having a proper home end at last gives us something to be proud of, in spite of the miserable results on the pitch.

Southampton Planning To Keep Faith With Russell Martin But Why !
at 11:22:28

Probably because Ankersen's too stubborn to admit he made a mistake, so we're all going to have to suffer for his pride.

Remember Ankersen's motto: "EMBRACE FAILURE"

Leeds Striker Could Make January Loan Switch To Southampton
at 22:44:22

Leeds fans hate him. They think he's lazy and useless and want him out. Sounds like the sort of player we'd take.

Why don't we bring in a decent in-form striker like Ayoub El-Kaabi instead?

Big T, of course we'd like Kjetil Knutsen to be our manager, but he turned down Ajax this year so I doubt he'd want to come here. Worth asking though.

Southampton Manager Admits Striker Omission Error At Bournemouth
at 09:41:09

We don't really have a centre forward. In January, we should get Ayoub El Kaabi. His goals would keep us up. It would've been better still if we'd bought him in the summer, instead of a load of mediocre wingers and inside forwards.

The Solution Is Clear For Russell Martin If He Is To Stay In His Job
at 11:12:38

Our tactics are naive and predictable. We are top of the Premier League for backwards passes, but the aim of the game is to win football matches not to top meaningless passing stat tables. Man City would win whatever way they played - even if their manager told them to just go out and play - because their players are so much better than the rest, but anyway, their passes are forwards, not backwards and sideways.

Most of the teams that win Premier League games nowadays have less possession, for example Newcastle just beat Spurs, who had 66% possession. They just pick off passes their opponents make in front of their own goals, which is all that every team that plays us knows they ned to do to beat us.

Unless we stop the predictble sideways and backwards passes in our own half, playing against us is like taking candy from a baby.

Southampton Could Still Offload A Few Players In This Transfer Window.
at 13:29:58

It would be like sending turkeys to Turkey. The only problem is they can't afford them (and they don't celebrate christmas anyway).

But, seriously, it might be worth paying them a bit to take some of them off our hands just so that Russell Martin can't pick them any more. We've got a nice Smallbone for you, and we'll even throw in an Aribo, a Stephens and an Edozie. You'll pay 20% of their wages, you say? Done!

Six Could Potentially Leave Southampton On Deadline Day
at 10:14:49

Offloading a few players makes sense. The Club has to balance the books or it could risk a FFP points deduction. Players like Aribo and Smallbone were OK in the Championship, but they are not Premier League standard. Maybe Championship clubs will take them. Edozie is another one we should try to offload, as well as one of our current goalkeepers: Lumley or McCarthy
