Although he had very few options, that team selection had no shape and very little idea. I agree with Myke, Morrison had an unusually poor game. Error prone and only ever looking one way when bringing the ball out. Sutton, eager to get on the ball was largely starved of it, as we continually went down the right. The substitutions improved things but were far too late. 25 minutes of the first half should have been enough.
Everything you said about the referee plus the repetitive fouling by Swansea and him leaving his cards in the dressing room. From his record, I was expecting a half decent referee, who wasn't afraid to enforce discipline. What I got was a whistle happy buffoon. |

Thanks Josh. You seem to be a bit steadier mid table than us. Just the occasional scent of the top six. Whereas, we wildly fluctuate between being almost certainly relegation bound, to then storming up the table before gently sliding back towards 16th, nervously looking over our shoulder whilst wondering if the storming was strong enough.

Mrs FB and myself were on holiday, so put our seats on the clubs official resale site almost two weeks before the game. They were snapped up in minutes. I hope it wasn't ours in F block.
What happened, did it kick off? The back row is quite Aggy and I can't imagine it would have gone down well. |

Thanks Clive excellent report, as always, and loved the closing line.
On the ref, imho, he really shouldn't be giving out such instructions at this level. The officials have worked their way up through various leagues and should be capable of giving an opinion on fouls and handballs. It's not as if he, Davies, is brilliant at making these decisions unaided.
Blocking. I know it is a commonplace now but when did this become part of the game. It used to be called obstruction or even a foul if there was contact. It's an American football tactic that has assimilated itself into what used to be the beautiful game. |

How long can we keep this going?
Can we continue to ride our luck?
Can we stop passing to the opposition?
Can we avoid a lengthy poor run which followed last season?
Other clubs at the bottom have changed their manager, others will follow. Some may find an improvement.

Great report. However, I'm surprised you liked the ref. I thought he was a contributory factor to the awful first half. He was blowing for everything. Every coming together, every fall over when brushed gently. I was under the impression, that you like a ref who lets these things go, to improve the flow of the game. |
