Playing for Saints recently hasn't exactly done him any favours. |

Downs was called up by Pochettino in May this year
In June he was named in the squad for the CONCACAF Gold Cup and scored in the Quarter Final.
He's only 21,Pochettino rates him.
Hes not been great for us but I've not seen enough of him to be absolutely sure he is as poor as some would suggest.
His time has not at Saints has done nothing for his international career. [Post edited 22 Dec 20:36]

He hasn't impressed me but you have to ask why
Did the Germans play him 6 times in their U20 last year?.
Why was he considered good enough for the US national side,playing 6 times?
Why does Pochettino rate him so highly?
Why are Hamburg so interested in signing him? |

Leeds have a battle on their hands.
Sunderland have a great defence, I'm pleased for them as they have had some hard times recently.
Burnley will go down and West Ham are struggling,Wolves are going for Derby's Record, I don't think they have gotten over losing Cunha. |

I've watched a few Premiership games this season and I cant think of one Championship side that wont struggle when they get promoted unless they spend a awful lot of money on the right players.

They were not bad as No2 choices.
Would be a lot easier to break down a 10 man defence if we had a target man to aim for.
As for Baz at the end that could have cost us yes,but as the saying goes 'he who dares wins'
if it wasn't for a heroic bit of goalkeeping he may have scored the winner.
We did our best today with what we have
Its a measure of how far we have come since Tonda took over that we are disappointed at not beating the league leaders today. |

Cant agree with that,Pat.
We threw everything at them and their defence was admirable, but when you have a defence as good as that and you put everyone back in their area its going to be hard to break down particularly when we lack a good Centre Forward with height.
When all we have is Archer and Downs to bring on,its going to be hard,I would have preferred to have kept Tall Paul
Have to say I love the way Saints play now they give everything with what they have,you cant ask more than that.
We probably would have had more of a chance if Coventry had 11 on the pitch,to try and break down 10 behind the ball is hard.
Would liked to have seen a fit Ross Stewart out there to day but that's just wishful thinking.

Scienza and Manning were delivering crosses and unless a 6ft centre half is there they are just wasted
