This could go on the Not a Lot... thread, but maybe everybody does know this.
But the subject discussed here is the derivation of the term South Paw for a left hander.
Baseball stadiums are laid out so that the sun is behind the batter at match time; ie in the west. So a left handed pitcher delivers the ball from his south side hand, or paw... [Post edited 13 Oct 19:03]
