I have tried to imagine what the score would have been if we had not taken wild, over-optimistic shots and had taken advantage of at least one free-kick from a decent position. That was a great win, but, there are some lessons to be learned when the squad watch the replay of that match. Could we, at least, work out how to take advantage of a free-kick just outside the box? |

JS commented that 'we won the game physically'.
Elsewhere, I read that the Birmingham manager also thought that we were 'physical' and that we were a team of big players.

I think they may have scored first. Pop Robson? Then came the onslaught. Lovely. Mrs Kernowhoop (not a football fan) came to 'keep me company'. Think she must have concluded that winning usually came easily for QPR after that. |

When I was watching on TV last night, I realised that when we won a corner or a free-kick in a threatening position, there was little point in becoming hopeful.
Corners? The long, high corner to just beyond the far post is no longer working.
Free-kicks? We offer no threat and seem to come up with nothing new.
This is something that can and should be addressed on the training ground. |

Re: the Sheffield Wednesday comments. I was at Hillsborough last Saturday, to see them lose 1-2 to Oxford. (Yes, I know I could have been at Derby, but sometimes an invitation from a friend cannot be turned down). I have never been to a competitive match where the fans of a beaten home side were as happy when leaving the ground. It was bizarre. |

Watching on Sky, I felt uncomfortable with the 'possession' football in the second half, when all I wanted was a second goal to seal the win. It felt like, before long, Swansea would get a free kick somewhere dangerous or latch on to a mistake and get an underdeserved equaliser. Clive's report however (he was actually there!) gave greater attention to the efforts that we made to increase the lead. I now feel even better about that win. |
