I wondered this. I think Garrido(?) is the clear bookies favourite. |

Superb Clive - thanks very much for everything again. I don't know how you would cope with scribing and relaying a very successful season to us all - you'd need a new lexicon. Not a problem you will have in 25/26 imho... Thank you. |

This, already, is my view. I'm straight away thinking Preston, Hull and Stockport for next season. |

0-0. Arid. Desolate. Nothing left to say. After Clive's excellent preview, just anger and dejection in equal measure. Well Done to the Noble Thousand. They deserve so, so much more. |

I agree - but I still ask the fair question, what is Lee Hoos's direct involvement in all of this, as a Championship-experienced (Burnley/QPR) adult in the room? To clarify, he is the Chairman of QPR, Our Present Chairman, unless I'm mistaken. Delegation is one thing, but there are times...I would venture this is one. [Post edited 30 Apr 11:03]

I'm not surprised by this at all. With all the chaos going on, any Championship club with promotion opportunities next season is going to want an incoming coach with a clean slate and top-eight Championship know-how, no? I love what Marti has done here but would his on-paper record (and the current shenanigans) appeal to these clubs? Still I retain the tiniest of hopes that he might stay with us. Somehow. Yes, this is what I reflected on more than anything this weekend and I know others on here did too. Crystal Palace, a 'ragged' South London outfit which I, as a Rangers supporter, looked down on for decades. A team who we would poach with casual disdain for players like Allen, Flanagan, Sealy, Fenwick? Wicks etc al. And a certain manager Terry Venables. The 82 quarter - final. The '6-0'. And now? How many years have they lauded it in the top flight (11?) without any relegation struggle at all. And with some truly great players including one of our greatest whose single sale could greatly determine our whole financial near-future? How many Wembley days have they had in those 11 years? 2 Cup Finals now. Just think of our one single Zamora moment and the joy it created and imagine that. Imagine this board, imagine our loyal fanbase... The worst thing of all this weekend. I blame Jude the Cat. [Post edited 28 Apr 19:23]

Nor me. If Marti departs us, 1000-1 on 21st place or above, I guess. |

Would echo this. I ran London (many) years ago and the crowds - particularly at Tower Bridge - lift you off your feet. The good thing about the course is that it is really very flat - but 42k is 42k. Struggled with a 5k parkrun on Sat... Well Done to all the runners - a huge achievement. [Post edited 28 Apr 9:15]

And 1982. I think we helped keep them up once in this league tho? 1999-00? |

Ex-Hearts manager now available too. Promising coach, nice guy and tells it like it is in post-FA Cup 3rd Round defeat interviews. Should fit right in here. |

No way. Makes no sense at all. They'll want a manager experienced in the top end of the Championship at least. |
 | Forum Reply | Anything good to feel about this season? at 14:07 27 Apr 2025
I would say what made this season unique/special/good was the strength of The Winter Offensive - and Marti/Zavi must take huge credit for that. I've been following Rangers since 1977 and I cant recall many seasons where we showed such fine, consistent winning form from Early Advent all the way to Valentine's Day, right through the worst, darkest months of winter where traditionally we are awful, partic. round Xmas/New Year. The awfulness this season was late summer/autumn and spring - which again is historically un-QPR like. A topsy-turvy season, therefore, but that winter form was good and memorable. To those kind Cardiff fans who jeered our misery as our coaches departed the Millennium Stadium in May 2003: this one's for you, boyos. Enjoy. And to Andy Campbell too. |

End of the road for Plymouth now. Effectively relegated (terrible goal difference). A real shame. [Post edited 26 Apr 14:36]

So the long-term revenge for the 7-0 hasn't happened...quite. And in 1979 we certainly didn't have the ludicrous financial advantage that they now have. A tough one - but no harm done. |
