I wondered if perhaps Kolli is nursing an injury. He went off at half time and didn't seem to be running totally flat out. I agree they're well coached. Everyone seemed to know their jobs and there was plenty of variety with through balls, playing round Burnley with quick passing and some lovely lofted balls down both wings for Sutton and Bennie to run onto. Nice antidote to this week's events. |

A couple of our players were down for a bit. The pen took a while and there’ve been a few subs. |

He’s done well but looks too short to be a Championship goalie. |

We’ve lost a bit of concentration at the back. A few sloppy passes and not tracking. |

Great run from Sutton and pass into him. Morgan doing some lovely passing from his own half. Need to be more clinical. Where have I heard that before???? Good atmosphere and enjoying it. Think we’ve overall had the better chances |

Congrats. Fantastic news. It's definitely hard work but a lot of fun. There's hope on her being a fan. There are far more female fans than when I first went in the 90s. There many dads and daughters even at away matches. I've brought up two grown up QPR fans among a sea of Chelsea and Man U fans among their mates. |

Wasn’t Martí in the top five longest serving managers recently. I think we are far from being the only basket case club in the Championship. What’s encouraged me recently is looking forward to the future rather than resolutely trying to buy success in the moment. Maybe I’m being deluded and that’s fair enough if you think I am but sorting out the training ground, stopping the players staying in the development squad until well in their 20s and getting players in like Vale and Esquerdinha seem like a longer term policy. After all the only way a club like ours is going to succeed is like Brentford, Brighton and Bournemouth because of the limitations of our ground plus FFP. By definition such a policy isn’t going to pay off quickly. |

I do find it a bit irritating when it's pure speculation and then people get furious about it. E.g. If it's true that the Board eat little children for breakfast then they should all be strung up. Then the next poster says they'll be executioner etc. all for a made up story. I am aware there are some known facts but it does seem to get out of hand. |

Console yourself with thought that TR now plays for Northampton Town. I don't think the nether regions of League 1 is where Tyler Roberts thought Tyler Roberts would end up when he thought he was too good for little old QPR. Meanwhile in other news Todd Kane is a free agent after being released by National League side Ebbsfleet Utd. Ozzy Kakay is at Boavista. Admittedly he hardly plays but I bet he's having fun. I'm hoping we are playing Kolli, Morgan, Sutton etc. Why not? |

Wow, 2.59 is a great time. We were tracking two runners doing it on behalf of Princess Alice Hospice who were wonderful with a family member and one did it in three hours 15 minutes and that seemed like he was bombing along on the tracker. Coming in the top in the ladies' race is also impressive. |

Wondering as I saw someone running pretty sharpish in a QPR shirt at Canary Wharf (18 mile point). Yelled out you Rs when I realised but he'd already bombed past. What a great day out. Brilliantly well organised. Lots of helpful stewards. Thousands of runners raising millions for a lot of amazing charities. Clearing up promptly. No-one moaning and the trains running. Reminded me of the Olympics. The best of London. |

Fair. So disappointing that we had such a limp display to end our season at home. I can't say any more about the football. But as a club that's suffered so much of Rob Styles, Gavin Ward and Keith Stroud (and Tom Nield even three times) we deserve to have James Linnington every home game next season. Not saying it's an easy job but some things are straightforward: don't get involved in endless chats, explain your decisions clearly and briefly; book someone early on for persistent niggly fouls if they're happening; don't keep threatening to book someone and not follow through (any parent who doesn't end up with a bratty child knows that); DON'T MAKE IT ALL ABOUT YOU. I think it's the only time I actually clapped a referee off the pitch (probs in part due to my PTSD after Nield against Swansea). God speed at Sunderland next week Clive. The end of this sorry season is in sight. You deserve a break more than ever. [Post edited 28 Apr 4:46]

Thank you. You summarised it better than me but it's precisely my point, particularly re Kolli. He has a lot of talent but even Eze said he had to change his attitude and listen more when he came to us to become successful. Obviously you want goal scorers to have a bit of tunnel vision but he should learn from Frey who often does the unselfish stuff, laying the ball off to someone in a better position, drawing away defenders to create space for others etc. |

I didn't mention it because it had zero to do with my point. Being able to hit one shot in a match has zero to do with attitudes and how you approach the game. It's nothing to do with picking up stupid bookings. Not being able to tackle after the stupid booking is how it affects the team. Even so if I were evaluating his overall performance it's not good enough for your senior player to be much better once Chair and Frey were on. Varane had to do a lot more work because Colback didn't. And we were 3-0 down by half time and the game was lost. The hugely maligned Madsen managed as many tackles as Colback from AM playing half as long. If you think winning two duels of any description from DM in 90 minutes is good enough against Burnley then I don't know what to tell you. Statistically the only worse performing QPR players over the season on Sofascore are the youth players Morgan and Lloyd. He's only managed one goal and one assist. The same number of penalties he's committed and red cards he's had. He's created zero big chances for anyone else. Once again Madsen has scored two, had three assists and created three big chances. Even defensively he only recovers 2.3 balls per match - Varane manages 4.6. Even Saito manages over three. But my point was his attitude and that for a senior player is woeful. I'll give people a free pass in the heat of the moment but that ref, who was excellent I thought, gave him a chance to not get a booking. This is in a match when we have zero options off the bench. But no he had to shoot his mouth off. Brain dead. |

Yeah I do. It's when the replacement of your replacement gets injured that you're stuffed. Or when there insufficient plan A players to support the plan B ones. |
 | Forum Reply | **BURNLEY MATCH THREAD** at 22:12 26 Apr 2025
I even said why. It's not ability or how they played today it's brain dead attitudes. Kolli also straddled the tight rope of not looking like he had to do more than waft about. I don't know how you could say Colback and Ashby played much better than anyone. Colback didn't manage one tackle in the whole match, won only 2 duels and still managed to get booked. He's supposed to be a senior, experienced player. Ashby persistently tries stupid flicks despite them hardly ever coming off. Despite being an actual RB he hardly provided any cover for Dunne. Dunne did eight clearances, four tackles, a blocked shot and a clearance off the line. |

We also lost Cook and Morrison. Then Field. We didn't have Colback for the first half of the season. In attack we lost Celar, Kolli and then Lloyd. Frey wasn't always available. Dembele we lost long term, then Saito. And to put the tin lid on it our only pace in Smyth. It's been a farce and yet we're not that far behind teams like Norwich, Watford and Sheffield Wed and above Stoke, Preston and Hull. The guy's performed miracles. |

I'm a bit worried that I've started agreeing with you recently Lblock. What's going on? |
 | Forum Reply | **BURNLEY MATCH THREAD** at 21:34 26 Apr 2025
I can forgive players for not being at the level. Football is tough and there's a massive gulf between the top and bottom Championship players. But Ashby annoys me because he has that Todd Kane quality of thinking he's better than he is. He hasn't earned the right to be asking Marti why he was subbed - as he did during the Swansea match. He's not Sam Field or Jimmy Dunne. He's a very average youth player on loan. He should be humble, run his bollocks off and not try the theatrics instead of jogging after balls and then pulling up early. And as for fans' favourite Colback, he's brain dead. Fancy when called over by the ref, who's obviously giving him a final warning argues back and gets booked. When we've got no other DMs on the bench. So he can't really tackle after that. Brain dead. Mind you he didn't manage one tackle all match and only won two duels. Don't want to see either of them at LR next season. |
