Smyth
at 18:09 31 Dec 2025

Excellent, deserved, needed.

There was some thread or other recently where someone was opining he wouldn't and/or shouldn't be renewed blah de blah, which was silly then and sillier now. QPR and Smyth are well suited. He has his faults and flaws, of course, but right now, for me, he gives us more than Saito, Varane, and one or two others besides. He should have started against West Brom, and needs to be used more and not less - he's quick, hard-working, consistent, and carries a goal threat.

Let's hope he now will be.

You say I'm a 'blight', the next poster acknowledges (thank you) my fair point. Football boards, eh? You couldn't make it up!

Have you ever considered just shutting the f*ck up yourself if all of you want to do is spread bile? Take a look in the mirror, mate, if you short of NY resolutions.

Where was Chair ?
at 23:19 30 Dec 2025

I think we can all agree we need him back pronto. The inability of any of our players to get their foot on the ball, get us up the pitch, and f*cking create something at West Brom was shocking.

When he comes back, SJ needs not to over-think it and just put him straight back in at anyone's expense!

I wish we had more ex-players we could look up at/to, rather than all these Balantas and Slades etc, who end up dropping so many rungs (if not actual ladders!) from where they were with us. How many players actually go onto better things after leaving us?

Tyler comms at WBA
at 23:14 30 Dec 2025

He's getting better, though I still miss Nick London's partisan passion. By contrast, Tyler feels to me somehow more manufactured. (Sorry, Tyler.)

He also needs to learn to stop stating the bleedin' obvious - e.g. passing the Officials room swith the insightful remark 'that's where the referee will be'. You don't say?

Commentary is a real art - it's as much what you don't say as what you do. Barry Davies was marvellous. (Jumpers for goal posts, etc.)

Esquerdinha and his usage

Agree with this. As one or two other posters were calling for, he should have played Field at LB, with Dunne and Morrison/Cook at CB. Unless Mbengue has an injury, his omission was stupid. Smyth should also have started over Saito. We might still have lost, but I think we'd hav been more stable and coherent.

Two home games against the bottom two - Six points ???
at 23:06 30 Dec 2025

We should aim for/expect 6 points.

Agree 4 points would be good going as things are.

2-3 points is what I think we'll get.

Seriously?

Kone isn't really cutting it for the most part, but Varane can't/won't pass (forwards), is a wayward tackler at best, and is no goal threat. Apart from that, he's a great player.

I'd take any amount of money in Jan. for him. Bloke plays like Jermaine Jenas on sleeping pills.

Big shock at Old Trafford
at 23:00 30 Dec 2025

Schadenfreude is a fascinating (very human) thing, which the Germans basically invented as a concept because the English could never own up to it. When Torres was having a hard time at Chelsea, I really enjoyed his pain. Not because I hate Chelsea, or because I hate Torres (I don't care about him at all), but just beacuase, for some reason, I liked to see him suffer.

You're 100% wrong, but you're so bitter and full of lothing yourself you don't see it. I would have loved the team to go and thrust my words and prophecies down my throat tonight, as I've often invited them to do on here. Sadly, they couldn't, and I'm stuck with them - and you, it seems.

Your bile is the thing you need to analyse in trying to humiliate a fan who writes seriously and extensively on QPR, and in fact (blow me down) recently wrote a post PRAISING JS for his pre-WBA interview - rather embarrassingly for your reductive, resentful, bitter little thesis about me. I know who I think is a sad man in this particular dynamic. So sorry to disappoint you, but I'm generally happy, creative, and expressive in my life. As for you, I'm really not so sure.

If you've nothing interesting or constructive to add to my thread, I suggest you go and antagonise someone else - fair enough?

I would add in that line about waiting till our chances occur, but it would fall a bit flat on tonight's showing.

I feel the result and performance tonight, but not only tonight, now puts the manager and team under a degree of pressure for the next two home games. We need two convincing performances and six points to get our credibility properly back.

I hope for both, but, right now, it's hope as much as expectation. Right now, two ropey draws (or worse) wouldn't surprise me. Hope to Christ I'm wrong. I predicted 4 points from these 3 games on my recent poll, and, having glumly called tonight's result correctly, it's looking like the best we can expect.

The players and the coaching team aren't good enough, end of.

Basically, supporting this lot will see you in a mental asylum.

So much for 'learning' and 'ambition'! Is he actually watching the same game we did tonight, or does the club pay him to speak to the camera like this?

1 draw and 3 defeats from our last 4 away shitshows, sorry performances, but apparently we're 'not in a bad moment'. We just need to recover, smile a lot, shrug our shoulders, and try to use our home form to paper over the fact that we don't perform away.

Fabuleux, I don't think!

Dumping all three of Dembele, Saito and Poku would be a massive vote of no-confidence in the management team, not to mention the players concerned.

Right now, it's a cunning plan that might just work.
