I watched Real Sociedad v Barcelona the other night , Barca were Barca ,tip ,tapping about at the back , goal kicks and free kicks played sideways and back time and again , Sociedad on the other hand varied goal kicks and free kicks played quickly through the pitch and pressed Barca relentlessly , forcing mistakes and turnovers time and again The result ……..Sociedad won 2-1 and were worthy winners , yes Barca had plenty of possession and chances but Sociedad did a job on them ,because they set up from the start to get in their faces and go at them , knowing that Barca only ever play one way ,slow build up,trying to pass the opposition out of the game and walk the ball in to the net Last night for periods of the first half we put ourselves under pressure messing about at the back and gave Blackburn a goal their play couldn’t create or deserve Vigaroux has to stop the faffing about with goal kicks and the silly passes to players just outside our box , it’s just inviting pressure for no reason costing us numerous points Just play the game simply no need to overplay and over pass ,,we look better when we do |

After a good lively start and a goal, we sat back and went back to the slow aimless faffing about at the back that has resulted in us conceding cheap stupid goals in the past and so it did again last night , Blackburn looked toothless and we gave them a goal when they looked unlikely to get one The drop in intensity and effort was so obvious,Vigaroux and Cabango caused a lot of it by playing stupid pointless balls to teammates in tight positions instead of just putting their foot through it and sending the ball upfield Matos must have said something at halftime because they came out with a lot more spark and drive with more ambition and we got 2 more goals and a valuable 3 points We have to stop this crap at the back ,a lot of teams do it in every league and more often than not it causes unnecessary pressure for no reason There is nothing wrong with clearing the ball and players have to take the initiative on the field to do it , we’d have more clean sheets if they did |

Agree, and he also tends to hold on to the ball too long ,gets caught and then loses it in Dangerous positions putting us under pressure I think he’s just trying too hard to make an impact, he’d be better off keeping it simple |

You could see We stopped pressing when our subs came on and we gave Brum more space and time on the ball, then the Brum subs attacked us and we paid the price We have more chance if we attack and put the opposition defence under pressure than trying to hold on to a lead because we’ve shown we can’t do that |

Agree with you on Stamenic coming on and Zan staying on longer ,we would have competed better.Roberts had a lot of luck with the ball breaking for him to score but we had a 24 carat penalty claim denied by another prune with a whistle ,one of many prunes we’ve had this season, enough to give you the runs |

Second half,Our substitutions blunted us a bit and Brum pushed on ,we just kept giving them the ball out wide and in midfield , Fulton saved us in numerous occasions today because Brum had their tails up for long periods ,also we stopped pressing even with fresh legs on and were setting up deeper trying to see the game out It didn’t work last week and it didn’t work this week , let’s hope we learn from it and don’t let it happen again |

Same as last week, it looked like we took our foot off the gas and let them back into it We had no luck mind you , hit the woodwork 3 times and had as nailed on a penalty as you’re likely to see with the defender pulling the shirt AND wrestling our player to the ground, waved away by a crap ref who penalised a Swans player straight after for a much softer challenge How many cynical challenges did he let them off with ,at least half a dozen worthy of a yellow card But our own fault for backing off second half, taking Zan off was very negative,I know we’ve got a game on Tuesday and there’s no backup but we stood a better chance of winning the game with him on We have to stop letting teams back in to games , that’s 2 in a row that were there for the taking,it can’t go on |

Me too ,the championship is a far better watch than the PL Listening to talksport the other day morning and one of the presenters was saying how boring the PL has gone especially with teams‘ obsessed’ with playing goal kicks sideways, resulting in turnovers or conceding and the slow ponderous build up from the back and the game now more about trying to stop your opponent playing than concentrating on your own game , he was saying how exciting it used to be when keepers played it out quickly and got the team’s attacking Even League 2 teams are faffing about at the back now it’s killing the spectacle and excitement of football now I love watching ‘ the big match revisited’. on TV , watching two teams getting stuck in and really going at each other other , great entertainment even if you didn’t always win |

When we move forward quickly we look really good and threatening but yesterday for periods we were slow at the back giving WBA time to press and mark our players up ,we need to vary our goal kicks and stop the faffing about inviting the press and putting ourselves under pressure |

Meant to add that we took our foot off the gas for a period in that second half and let WBA back into the game and they scored it was as if we thought we’d already won the game We turned over possession far too easily in dangerous positions , especially Yalcouye and we messed about with the ball trying to be too clever at the back instead of of just clearing it upfield Definitely a game we could and should have won convincingly |

Agree with you on Eom and Ronald, both played well today and I thought Widell got stuck in and had a good game too ,Zan laid some nice balls off as well I’m with you on the faffing about at the back and the ponderous goal kick nonsense,it was cringing to watch,I’d hoped we’d seen the back of that when Sheehan left everyone around where I was sat were going crazy about it ,all it achieved was to slow the play down so WBA could mark all our players up ,press us so we put ourselves under pressure for no reason…please let that be the last time we have to see those tactics, just get the ball forward quicker because we look a good side when we do I’m not blaming anyone for missing a penalty , at least they have the balls to take one ,and it’s basically a lottery anyway On WBA I didn’t think they were as good as they were in the league game and we created a lot more chances because of it but they changed their lineup too so maybe that’s the reason |

I won’t even look at anything that comes from WOL anymore, if it’s about the Swans it’s stolen from the Indy or is only written to try to make us look bad ,if it’s general news it’s all about the “Crapital” , makes me sick to my stomach Lately I’m noticing that BBC Wales news and sport are going the same way Welsh mainstream media and the Welsh assembly consider Wales to be anywhere within 5 miles of the centre of Cardiff because that’s where all their Money and praise goes I feel contempt for both Forza INDY |

Very good point if you pull or wrestle a player anywhere else on the pitch they flop about like they’re made of wet cardboard and a foul is given but in the box at corners refs allow what amounts to all in wrestling to take place it’s ludicrous It was never allowed in the past |

Talk about one dimensional but it works for them, horrible to watch because I’ve got an arthritic neck and couldn’t watch it every game but we couldn’t cope with it Second half we were much better but they just pushed for throws and corners and we gave them Vigaroux was outstanding,I lost count of the world class saves he made but we just gave them to much ball out wide ,inviting crosses and didn’t have enough composure to keep it away from them The ref let Millwall get away with a lot of cynical stuff too I tell you what if they ever learn to play football they could be world beaters ,their fans would miss it all though as they’d be looking towards the sky |

I read somewhere the Wigan manager said both Cooper and and Paul Mullin would be returning to their parent clubs ,maybe they need to save money ?? |

Ronald is a good defensive option,he gets on the right side of attackers when covering and is a good tackler |

Great battling performance again and well deserved,we got in WBA’s faces from the off and they didn’t like it and couldn’t find a way to do anything about it , they improved after their subs but we stood up to them and managed to grind the win out Everyone played well today ,a mention to Josh Key who was playing very well until he got injured, hope he’s ok Widell ,Franco and Yalcouye ran their socks off and made real nuisances of themselves Ben and Cam were solid and Ronald ,Tymon and Inoussa took the game to them very well Vigs made some really big saves to keep them out and all our subs made a big contribution Vitor raised eyebrows before kick off with his selection but his tactical awareness have changed us for the better and it certainly paid off All in all a great performance and a very important 3 points Well done all COYS YJB |
