Not only did we play the last game at Maine Road but we won it.

I got stopped by the police on the way home for having a headlight out.

At least that explained why I had trouble picking the right exit at the M4 roundabout.

I tried to steal a seat for EBay but the stewards weren’t having it.

It was absolutely pissing it down and we were in that temporary Gene Kelly stand. That was a memorable day out anyway.

I was thinking that at half-time.

We needed one in front of Mateta and one behind to box him in.

Bednarek was making him look like the best player in the world.

We are so shit at the moment that we can’t even get the basics right.

That’s why it just takes one questionable refereeing decision a game to finish us off. We need everything to go our way just to avoid defeat and there’s no way of that happening.

I’ve just asked the Croatian woman at work (whose English is so good that she used the word “perplexed” earlier) about this. She doesn’t like football but says it shouldn’t be a problem as Croatians are used to picking up other languages. Modric speaks a load of different languages and English is very widely spoken in Croatia, especially in the tourist areas. I’d be surprised if the language was a problem for this guy.
