![]() Sunday, 8th Feb 2009 08:57 Fulham will arrive at the Liberty Stadium next weekend with the Swans in full confidence It could be a quarter final place for Swansea City with home advantage over their Premiership opponents and a 15 game unbeaten run to protect in the process but manager Roberto Martinezz says that they cannot become obsessed with cup football. Speaking to Wales on Sunday, Roberto said “It was very different circumstances the last time we got this far. We had done well to get to that stage but we still felt we had a real chance against Tranmere of getting through. “And, with a bit of luck, who knows what would have happened. Tranmere went on to play Milwall and Milwall got to the final. “We gave a silly goal away and didn’t take two or three opportunities But this is not the same. “We know you can control your success in the league to finish in the table where you deserve to finish. “In the cup it can be down to the luck of the draw, specific incidents or decisions and you can go out without losing a game or go on a run without winning one. “That’s why you should never be obsessed with the cup because it is only league success that is one of your own making and that you can really work towards. “It does not mean we cannot enjoy this occasion and be excited about the cup. “With the squad we’ve got and the maturity we’ve shown we are ready to approach two competitions. We welcome Fulham with confidence.” Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
